I hear ya....I been trying to get decent order together this week ,and I got good start, but its hard to believe ppl are so naive to pay more than I do at local for sticks...I can't imagine spendine 8 bucks on a four dollar or less stick when you spend a cpl more an get an opus,etc..
Though since I have tried alot of new sticks thanks to alot of ppl here .I just go with a few of those.....lol

Oh well, good thing I started a new cooler.

Edit:

Winning bids have been a bit on the high side, but I have seen a couple of reasonable buy prices. Prices have never really dropped much since the end of last summer.

Yes I somewhat agree tony though I have never seen ,just an ecample,a de english go past 3_4 $ per 5 they just sold for 35_37 for a ,5 pack...paid ,11 for last one...same with irish hops ,30$ per fiver usually 15...

Others I noticed were graucliffs though not that drastic.maybe buck a pc....cohibas etc....Just a bad week ..hellll we all seen em good weeks bad weeks just some of pricing higher than local shop...

No big deal just idiots I assume .I just looked at different sticks I've tried lately and changed up a bit on order...so no biggie

Its been said million times but when you can buy 2_3 per stick cheaper on ci someone got more$ than cents...lol

Stop bashing Charlie, he's right on. These idiots keep driving up prices because they hate to lose. Happens to guys with small weenies and big expectations. When I bid, I keep a top bid in mind and never go over it no matter how much I want the stick. Wait until real Cubans become legal and they get a chance to bid on a Cohiba Behike.

Stop your crying to. We've all had this happen and making another useless thread about it won't change it.
Fyi, if your that worried about real cubans don't buy the glass top box sampler.
More reasons why I hate noops.

WhT happens is noobs go to their local B&M... Ask for recommendations, and like a certain stick. They then go online to due alittle research and find the same stick well bellow MSRP which is where most B&M's price theirs.

They think they are getting a good deal, where we think we are getting screwed.

I've seen Melanio Maduro's over $10 a stick in Cigar shops.

On the Mothership they go for $110 a box.

But they are aged and stored better at B&M's <---- subjective

You're so ignorant, it is pathetic. This has NOT happened to ALL of us and how you would get such knowledge in the first place is beyond me. Second; I didn't make this thread, Charlie did. Third, I am not worried about real Cubans; I was just speculating.

And, I suspect that you hate a lot more than "noops (sic.) d'oh!

So I'm ignorant for saying that it happens to all of us. Take a poll and see how many of us had our goto cigars or our regular production cigars price increase to the point where they have increased in price by a buck or 2. Gfy you silly noop.

Be patient and stick to your max bid more often than not you will eventually win what you want. Though I will agree that prices in general have been higher lately.

I guess if it wasn't for the "noobs" overbidding, prices on cigars would not have gone up. forget about the rise in federal taxes and production costs. ram27bat

How long do you think cbid would be around if all the auctions ended at the lowest price that we would like?

Im sure most in here consider federal taxes and production costs which make us up our bid to greater than ci prices lol.

I'm glad someone finally thought about posting an overbid thread since it's never been done before.

Who knew folks overbid?

I think it's funny that, according to what I think I've seen before here.. only about 1% of 1% of the cbid customers ever come to this forum.. or know anything about it.

Thats been happening alot here lately and was discussed last ight .The sight being ow,kicking ppl offine etc...Hell I had a double and one triple last night too.

This whole thread gone to hellll surprise..I assume that its better to talk about nothing on here?I sorta thought that was purpose of the thread, not so much nowadays unfortunately though..
Obviously cbid has to make money and to insinuate they do not is blatantly nuts...There is a hell of a difference in making money and ppl going almost dbl price on ci...Anyways you all argue amongst yourself I'm totally not into the daily arguments .....

My initial bid was on Melanios...

What I ended up with is a few handfuls of tats, a box of Jamie Garcia, some random cheap short smokes on an impulse buy and a bucket full of yard gars.

Personally I think overbid threads are just fine. Hell, everyone should be able to vent on here at times. If you don't want to read another overbid thread....don't read it. There are plenty of times I don't want to hear about my wife's day at work but if she wants to vent about it...I let her. In my case, I have to listen to it. On here people don't need to open the thread if they don't want to.

Stepping down from the soapbox.

The overbid threads do not bother me either really, but if it is the number of threads that is the issue, thereby pushing other threads down the page, then the answer is simple - somebody in charge needs to do an "Overbid Thread" that is sticky'ed to the top of the page and any other thread that is started on the topic is merged into that one.

That way everybody that wants to post about some crazy bid where the price was way over what you could have bought them for on CI (and there are a lot of those it seems) can have a place to put it, those that like reading that can read it, and those that don't like lots of overbid threads would be happy.

Oh hey, 100 posts! Do I get my Platinum Card now?
