Our A/C unit quit on us, and with outside temps in the mid to high 90's with extremely high humidity, it was just a matter of time before I got smart enough to move everything into the bedroom.Probably shouldn't have waited as long as I did. d'oh!

I had to move my much smaller stash when we ripped out the entire back wall for replacement. I had to set up a little refugee camp at work. I did not trust the insulating power of visqueen.

Your insulation was provided by cross-dressers? Now that's a party.

How do you like the footlocker style humi? I had a 56qt gasketed tupperdor for boxes and singles spread throughout a few desktops. I'm trying to consolidate (and filled up all my space so far..) into a cooler for boxes and trays of **** aging and one larger humidor for singles. Going to sam's club to grab 150qt cooler tonight tehehe.

Do most people not have basements?

It's a lil bit of a hassle to worry about flooding n stuff but I dont know if I'd ever want to be without. 54-64 degrees year round down there. Might get warmer without ac in the summer, but thats set at 78.

Have a couple posts like this here, and a couple similar at the other forum I frequent.

Not a lot of basements in Central Alabama. Ground is too rocky, so it would involve blasting.

Southern Indiana is full of karst features and limestone so very few houses with basements in my price range. My next home *WILL* have a basement. I grew up with one and miss it very much. All the **** that should be in my basement is in my garage...

I like the "foot locker" for boxes, but my favorite is the floor standing humi.
Four bins up top. Enough room for six trays in the middle, and enough room on the bottom for more boxes.
The smaller humi's in my makeshift "tower" hold my CC's and my flavored sticks.

I wish I had a basement...it would help with the humidity too....plus storing crap. In my neck of Florida, water table 1-3 below surface......people build something like a basement and don't build a house on it. They call it a swimming pool.

I thought about that, Jackie Boy, but I know your humi's are set up strictly for super premiums, and all I have is dog rockets.

WOOT, Get the new unit tomorrow. Got the Cadillac model. 2 speed compressor, variable speed air handler and a readout on the thermostat on system health. I know it's a little over kill, it's just an A/C, but this is the way we went last time and it lasted 30 years. Besides, it gets hot down here and I need something to cool my big azz off.
