It's their job to scare the sh|t out of you and keep you watching.

Quit watching, watching the news doesn't change the news or help anything. Actually, there are benefits to not watching, e.g., lower stress levels and lower blood pressure.

I hear you. Only recently has my wife backed off watching the news. When she started cursing at the screen like I have been doing for years. I told her what she used to tell me, "They cannot hear you, it TV." I also insited on no TV at dinner time and not eating in front of the TV. Now if I could get her to quit watching those BS knights templar, Oak Island and pirate treasure 'documentaries'Full of crap I'd be a happy man. Brick wall

The national news is my quick, weekend fix. I really should ignore it all, but that is exactly what Le Hockerdad said ten years ago - the longer the masses are medicate with their credit cards, cars and truck (and the electorate understands it can bribe itself with its own money) the gig is up.

Cut the multimedia and read, even if it's online. HD is, in a way, correct, they want us to be disaffected. I still vote, talk about politics etc, but I try not allow myself to get stirred up by the news or the two parties.
