Yale fail: Ivy leaguers sign 'petition' to repeal First Amendment

“I decided to take this campus free speech debate to its logical conclusion,” said Horowitz, who asked students if they’d sign a petition calling for an outright repeal of the First Amendment. “The result was this unbelievable display of total stupidity.”

I watched it earlier today. It's scary how much a lot of younger people don't know or understand about our country. We can thank our public education system for a lot of this crap.

They're just tired of being offended by everyone all the time.

They would rather have the government tell them and everyone else what to do so it will make their lives a little easier and less offensive.

If any of these idiots ever happen upon this page, all I have to say is this...

YOU STUPID SHT FOR BRAIN MILLENNIAL, SKINNY PANTS WEARING, MAN BUN SPORTING, MAN PURSE CARRYING, DK SKING FGGTS, I HOPE YOU'RE OFFENDED, BECAUSE I'M SERIOUSLY OFFENDED BY YOUR BLATANT RETARDEDNESS.

... and I'm not easily offended.

p.s. to the girls that were involved with this nonsense, tits or gtfo.

As much as I would love to make fun of Yale students and any others who went to those fluff ivy league schools I looked down my nose at, this whole thing seems VERY .... edited.

Notice that whenever he cuts to someone saying something like "great job" or "I appreciate what you're doing", he has never included any video of what they are responding to. Perhaps they are responding to him saying "I'm putting together a video to try to mock the safe space crap"... we never see it. Additionally, 50 signatures in 60min? I call bs if the clips he included are any indication. Getting someone to stop, giving your shpiel, answering the questions and getting the signature.... then repeat... not a 1min cycle time.

Considering his videos are generally labeled as "satire" and not news, he's given a lot of liberty in how he wants to edit it. I suspect he took that liberty.

Victor, point well taken, but on the other hand...

If even one dipsht is willing to give up their right to free speech, then that's a problem.

I would consider someone willing to sign away their right to free speech in America with their own free will a treasonous act.

But I'm known to troll people, so I kind of need that first amendment... and so do you for that matter.

True, I am a fan of the 1st amendment. But it is technically any individual's right to sign away their personal right.... I guess? If one of those students really signed it because they understood and believed what they signed... well they were idiots. I can't draw any more conclusion than that.

Let me add to that.... if any one of those students signed it because they didn't understand what they were signing but signed it anyway.... well they were idiots too.

It's worse than that, Obama was elected, then elected to a second term.

Ben Franklin once said, and I'm paraphrasing, "You who would give up your rights for security deserve neither."

I didn't open the link.
You may be spot on.

But the 50 signatures in 60 minutes is easy to do.

It's a liberal campus. You put out a petition to limit toilet paper consumption and idiots would sign it. Because it's a petition. And that means somebody wants to stick something to the man by changing the status quo.

Look at those protests not too long ago.
Nobody knew what they were protesting. Except for the ugly professor chick who wanted to boot out the camera dude.

these kids don't care about anything. So they try to appear like they care about everything.

When I was in college, there was a protest march that I got talked into. I really didn't have much knowledge of the cause, but fortunately it was a good one and the law it pertained to was amended.

This actually does a good honest job of explaining this issue that everyone from both sides can agree on.
