New budget spending

The proposed omnibus budget calls for 1.1 trillion is spending. 548 billion defense plus 73.7 billion for ongoing combat ops- that's a total of 621.7 billion or 56.5% of the budget.

I guess Rubio hasn't been paying attention as he stated the shrinking size of our navy and air force in last night's debate or he may just want to spend a lot more.

They need to cut some of that back, there's a lot of waste there.

When it has bipartisan support you can count on it increasing spending and adding more debt

But I have grown to expect no less out of our ruling class

Some of the crap I've seen the government overpay for. If we could only cut overpaying and waste.

I agree.
Things like "generational poverty" where generations of healthy people sit on their asses and collect "their checks".
Or paying to house and feed "illegal immigrants" (I prefer to call them invaders and they should be dealt with accordingly).
Or the misuse of Social Security funds.
Or....

Chump change in comparison to what Mike had listed....CHUMP CHANGE.

Executive Summary

Unlawful immigration and amnesty for current unlawful immigrants can pose large fiscal costs for U.S. taxpayers. Government provides four types of benefits and services that are relevant to this issue:

Direct benefits. These include Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance, and workers’ compensation.
Means-tested welfare benefits. There are over 80 of these programs which, at a cost of nearly $900 billion per year, provide cash, food, housing, medical, and other services to roughly 100 million low-income Americans. Major programs include Medicaid, food stamps, the refundable Earned Income Tax Credit, public housing, Supplemental Security Income, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
Public education. At a cost of $12,300 per pupil per year, these services are largely free or heavily subsidized for low-income parents.
Population-based services. Police, fire, highways, parks, and similar services, as the National Academy of Sciences determined in its study of the fiscal costs of immigration, generally have to expand as new immigrants enter a community; someone has to bear the cost of that expansion.

These of course are trifles compared to corporate welfare and the 6% tribute we pay to the private owners of our money, called the Fed.

What do you mean by misuse of SS funds?

But the real issue is that we spend far and away too much on our military. We spend more than the next seven biggest spending countries combined.

Holy chit, I agree with tonygraz on something.

There are policies in place that promote wasteful spending across the board. One such policy is if a department doesn't use their entire budget, then their budget for the next year will get cut.

This forces departments to spend their allocated money or lose it. Very wasteful.

Most of us have heard the stories over the years. A quick Google search gives us WAY more than we would care to know or read about how our monies are being abused and misused.

And yes our military budget is bloated. I work in the industry so I know.

Sorry I don't watch MSNBC or subscribe to any political info.
So you are stating that the programs "you" mentioned in your plagiarized piece have a 100% waste factor?

A. Never been banned. Just a sternly written letter warning me.
B. This is CBid. "Hanging out" was an attempt at suggestive sophomoric humor. Ask TW. He'll explain it to you. But be careful, or he'll use pictures to make his, uh, point.
C. The pictures are not me.

There is NO point.....for ANY of us. The Only power we " had " was our vote during elections, now they don't even pay attention to that. Everyone thought we might see change after the 2010 and 2014 mid-terms....and look how that worked out. Ryan is just another Boehner LITE....( he prolly won't cry as much though )

TW, TMC wrote work with passion and moisture replete cognition of heart felt burn. There is no cause for sinusoidal repleneration or small bits of dry toast without marmalade oil. Drink not from the well that pours only time in amorality disenchanted by the lurch of bygones in front of the watershed.
