Sad

Former vice-presidential nominee and governor of Alaska Sarah Palin made her first foray into the 2016 presidential race Tuesday by announcing she is endorsing Donald Trump.

"I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States of America," Palin said in a statement from the Trump campaign announcing the endorsement.

She was expected to appear alongside Trump at a campaign event later Tuesday at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

"I am greatly honored to receive Sarah's endorsement,” Trump said in the statement announcing Palin’s decision. “She is a friend, and a high quality person whom I have great respect for. I am proud to have her support."

Palin, who became a symbol of the Tea Party movement following the 2008 presidential election, is the highest-profile backer for a Republican contender so far in the race.

Her endorsement was not the only one Trump received Tuesday. While campaigning at Iowa's John Wayne Birthplace Museum, he received an endorsement from the western film actor’s daughter, Aissa Wayne.

Wayne said the country needs a strong and courageous leader like her father, and that he would be offering his endorsement if he were still alive.

Trump said he was a big fan of Wayne and that the actor represented strength and power — which, he said, the American people are looking for.

Film at 11.... Brick wall Brick wall

I think her endorsement may be more hindrance than helpful.

In other news, the John Wayne foundation ( I think it was his son?) has retracted the daughter's statement, saying that no one can speak for John.

Watched her Iowa endorsement and had a hard time following her near crazy rant. It makes sense now because her mind was probably fried by the news that Obama made her son attack his girlfriend and fake like he was going to commit suicide and stuff. I pray for that family. Kidding and Politics aside, they need gods help and I hope they get it.

Great fit for Trump's administration- she could head the new department of family values.

Palin never had me convinced. She seemed way too showy for someone who was a tea party favorite and when she paired up with McCain my suspicions were confirmed. I always thought him to be more of a Blue-Dog than a full conservative by any means.
