sure you can. There are plenty of ideas that fail because they are bad and their originator is wreckless and the originator is lucky or smooth. Hucksters rise and fall every day. Some have drive and balls, some are desperate, some fall in to things or pray on the weak. And there are accidental travelers and mr magoos.

By definition, a "fan" is a fanatic. Therefore, it is reasonable to expect some level of obsession.
But more importantly, a fan will "obsess" in a positive fashion (for the most part).

Pretty sure the chitstorm in the middle east is going as planned.
