I went to the local humidor and asked for a smoke that was stronger than the Hemingway line. He lead to this 5x50 cigar. I had high hopes for this good looking cigar. The first half inch was an unusual taste. Woody but I am not sure of which variety. The next half inch had a chocolately taste. But only on the draw. It started to get a jagged burn. The chocolate gave way to a horribly harsh taste. I decided to inhale some smoke to get the flavor in my nose. Big Mistake! My throat instantly started burning and my right eye poured out a stream of water. The amount of smoke this thing made was about like a plugged cigar even though this one was not plugged. I was gonna toss it about halfway through but I didn't want to throw away $2.50. The rest of the cigar burned very crooked. I couldn't even it up with my torch. With 2in left my problem was solved. It went out and I was not gonna take a chance on burning my nose with a re-lite. I tossed it into my butt pile and this is by far the longest butt in the bunch.
Overall:
It was a complex smoke, Had 3 distinct flavors; woody, chocolate, then harsh. The burn was uneven then unmanagable. The ash had a green tint at some points. I have smoked many cheap cigars but this was not one of them. It is my first dog rocket.
What do you folks think of this cigar and your experience with it?
Tomorrow is $5.00 table dances at the Wild Zebra. Liz would have easly given me more pleasure than this cigar! I just made a pitcher of my famous Baccardi 151 strawberry daquerris. This may be my last coherrant post of the night. A 5 pack of Diesels would have been a better buy!
This only thing that could make this a worse experience would be catching the West Nile Virus from one of the mosquitoes that bit me.

I like the Camacho Corojo ... but then I like nearly every full-bodied smoke I've ever tried ... I think there's a big difference between full-bodied and harsh and don't care a bit for those that are just strong and harsh ... I haven't had the problem with a lack of smoke volume from the Camacho's I've smoked, which I wouldn't care for if it were to happen ... I plan on taking several with me on my vacation trip and will let you know if my opinion changes after I smoke 'em ...

I've smoked 10 of the Camacho Figuardo Corojo, and loved 'em all. In my experience, they need some humi time for a good burn. I smoke a couple soon after getting them, and the burn wasn't great. However, the rest of them benefited greatly after a 2 month nap, the burn was excellent. Very powerful smoke, and I'll be buying more.

I have some Camacho Corojo Figs in the Dk Nat wrapper. I likes em but I like the Diploma even better. I'd put that baby up against any ISOM I've ever had. X

Try the Camacho Diploma; it is made from the best of the plant and I believe the rest is relegated to the regular Camacho line. Their regular line in no way compares to the Diploma ($8/stick 5x52)

The Diploma is on my top 5 list for sure.

I've been working my way through the Camacho sampler: Camacho Corojo and Havana Nacionals,La Fontana White and Black Label Verdis. Fairly decent smoke. A little too diminutive. The Havana wrapper smoked a bit heavier than the corojo. Falls in my arbitrary "wouldn't pay over $2" range.

I love the Camacho Corojos. I think it has to be the last smoke of the day though because I don't think I'll be able to taste anything after that. I got a box of gigantes. The one I tried didn't draw well, so I'm letting the rest of the box sit. But I've never had that happen with the smaller ring sized toros or figurados

Too strong for me, like burning a wire. Prefer the Camacho havana line.
