I just finished the last of a box of the post re-branding Camacho Diploma robustos.
I have to say this will be the last Camacho cigar I ever smoke. I used to be a big fan of the old Camacho Diploma's and they were part of my regular rotation. Never again.
Every stick in this box was severely underfilled, soft, with a ridiculously loose draw. The experience was more like sucking air through a straw than smoking a cigar. The ash fell apart virtually every third puff. Terrible, terrible construction. Of course with an exceptionally loose draw and underfill they burned fast and hot.
Camacho obviously focused all their effort and money on their re-branding, boxes, and labels designed to appeal I guess to the pseudo biker demographic, rather than caring about producing a decent product. If this box is representative of the rest of their product line now, then they are selling crap at a premium price. I doubt they'll have any repeat customers if this box of 5th rate dog rockets is representative of their re-branded product.
Camacho should apologize for putting their name on this product in an attempt to fool people into thinking they'd be buying what used to be a solid, reputable brand.
Steer clear. The Camacho of old is dead. What a shame.
