I'm so glad we have protests at the trump rallies that are in support of freedom of speech...oh! wait a minute. I think they only meant freedom of their speech.ram27bat

Who are these ignorant, immature, idiots who keep blocking roadways and bldgs and destroying property. They are like "Terrorism Lite". This stuff only serves to the advancement of Trump.....which I am actually ok with.Herfing

was watching "the five" on fox......they were saying that these protesters could stay there all night because they probably don't have any jobs or they are there to get course credit for college.

What happens if someone dies because of their disregard for the law and human dignity and respect?

I read about the protests, and I gotta say I'm McLovin' it.

Trump is such a tool - and he has richly earned the protests.

With the GOP on the fence about Trump, Fox must be spinning over how to spin this.

But I am sure their articles will be fair and balanced.......LOL

there really isn't much to argue about re: freedom of speech. You simply have to accept that some of the ugliest stuff you can imagine has to be allowed. There is nothing to debate.

It's easy to understand that yelling "FIRE!" in a theater can not be accepted, because the speaker's rights to expressing an idea is not being limited, as opposed to him/her yelling "Down with Trump".

Would many like to stifle opponents? Obviously. That's the part that is difficult to accept, but the most important part as well.

Hmmm.. why am I reminded of so many news reports I've seen:

about people going berserk when their favorite sports team loses some championship or something.

or

about people going berserk when their favorite sports team wins some championship or something.

They ALL break stuff and burn stuff....

Hey... A double berserk bonanaza! Triple now!

it is a sickness, but it is not freedom of speech. private property destruction is not part of that. you are correct.

A "Freedom of Speech" discussion without one post from tamapatom???

Guess he's really only worried about his freedom of speech on this forum.

Freedom of speech is only need to protect unpopular speech, popular speech needs no protection.

Freedom of speech is the right to yell "theater" in a crowded fire.

Freedom of speech is the law of the land....unless it offends someone and it is labeled hate speech....then you are allowed to censor it.

There is no more freedom of speech.
Easy social media has eliminated that almost over night.

True, you won't get arrested for saying the "wrong" thing.
But you'll get fired and your business will go bankrupt.

And 99.97% in one flavor of political persuasion.

You're either a racist, a bigot, intolerant, a homophobe, or any other number of things for saying that. Sarcasm

Freedom of speech never meant freedom from repercussion due to what you said. It's no worse now than it ever was. Ben Franklin wrote under another name for that very reason. And people have always played the victim.
