Comments here and from the other thread are giving me a headache..........it gets more confusing the more I think about it........and I fuggin hate that!
For instance......riddle me this (hypothetical scenario):
So let's say Fuente has a cigar, the "Fuente 1", which went into production in 1995.
The "Fuente 1" is exempt from regulation, despite the fact that presently (2016) EVERY single aspect of that cigar (wrapper, binder, filler, seed, production location, grow location etc.) most likely is COMPLETELY different than it was in 1995.
The "Fuente 1" is getting its exemption because of the NAME, and introduction date.
So.....................
What about the "Fuente 2"? It was also introduced in 1995, but discontinued in 1999, only to be re-introduced in 2004, but they sold out, have have not been available since 2006.
Can Fuente put the "Fuente 2" back into production now, and be exempt from regulations?
If yes, man, talk about loopholes and "back-door" dealings between the big boys and the more popular boutiques.......gonna be crazy.
I tried doing a search for a list of pre and post Feb, 2007 cigars.......no luck.
If anyone can figure that out, please post.
I do know one thing, the number of cigars many of us smoke, introduced post 2007, is staggering, well over 1000, and maybe approaching 2000.
