I certainly can't speak for what happened in other places, but I can speak to certain events that took place in Baton Rouge. For the most part we are aware members of BLM made their way to Baton Rouge to raise awareness of a thug who refused to comply with lawful police commands, put his hand into his pocket and very possibly fired a pistol right before he was shot and killed.
Of course there were many protests. He was hailed as a father, an entrepreneur and a gentle soul. However, what hasn't been reported is why he was not in jail though having been booked on criminal charges earlier this year in which a life sentence was a very real possibility. Nor has the media reported whether or not the DVD's he was selling were copies legitimately aquired from a licensed distributor or copied on a personal duplicator. Nothing has been reported about the possibility that DVD's weren't the only items for sale when the incident occurred.
During these "peaceful" protests, many police officers whom I've had the distinct pleasure of serving with, both black and white, were hit with rocks and other debris by a group of people who ran away as said police officers chased them in response to them hurling objects at them. A number of those "peaceful protestors" were apprehended and booked into jail. When their booking photos were taken a number of these debris throwing "peaceful protestors" were wearing BLM tee shirts.
So keep drinking the koolade if it makes you fell good. But, I suggest you become better informed otherwise you're just just like the rest of the clueless riders on the bandwagon.
