I just figured out that I can't post multiple pictures. So instead of replying to my original post with the rest of the story and more pix, I am doing this part 2 post. Sorry, folks. I'm still a newb.
When I removed the tray, I saw what was in pic A.
All of the smokes in the top shelf and the bottom looked interesting, with some that might even be quality. The Ashtons without the cello look particularly interesting.
The seller cautioned me that there hadn't been a humidification device in the humidor "for some time now." But since this is the Pacific Northwest, I thought that their life in the humidor might not have been too bad, even without a humidification device. Without a second thought, I bought everything for $30. When I got home I popped in my calibrated hygrometer and found that the humidity in the humi was between 65 and 70. Seal did not look amazing, but the humidity gave me some hope that the cigars might not be in terrible shape.
I've moved them all to my humidor for a rest and potential rehab, as you can see in pic B.
Now here are my noob questions: What do you think for $30, trash or treasure? How can I check the condition of my new friends to find out if they need rehabbing? And if they do, can they be saved? And if they can be saved, am I doing it correctly?
TIA
