Thank You
The whining about overbidding for a short story caused me to search the local shops for one to try. One near my workplace had a Classic. I was about to walk out of the humidor with it when I asked my usual question: "Do you have any OPUS?" I got the usual response "NO".
But the guy walked over to a locker and opened it. I figured he was gonna show me one... But he brought out 2 Mini Belicosos. I dropped the Hemingway on the floor, stepped on it, and ran over to him. He told me not to tell anyone because he only had 1 left. So I crammed them into my pocket. (he gave me the same look that Aberdeen gave the cigar licker.) At the register he gave me a baggie and told me that I might want to put them inside the bag instead. I went to all of the other main humidors in town and none had any more. (they said) I did drop by the firestation to tell our local HERO, Jazzman where he can try and get one. And I bought a short story for $6.15.
Thanks again whiners, I paid retail for 3 cigars. $27.00 I will smoke the short story at PTs right now. Spending another $20 for a table dance that lasts 3 mins. (Boobs or gars, Which is the better deal?)
Saving the OPUS s for a Labor Day beach trip.

I remember my first time for style='color:red'>X as well ...

It was in a closet;

It was really dark;

I was really scared;

I was ALL ALONE!!!

And afterwards, I came out and
had my first cigar … <grin>

GYO, be carefull with that Opus x x3(the mini belicoso). It's strong little thing. I had one last week after a big meal and I was glad I was sitting down!

P.S. Try taking a Churchill to the club, size does matter.

GetYourOwn, it was great to meet you and thanks for the heads up on the opus x's. by the time i get there after work tomorrow, they will probably be gone---but maybe i'll get lucky...i got three at home anyway--i shouldn't be greedy. enjoy the opus.

cwilhelmi, do you live in Denver? When they have them, Edwards Cigars on Broadway charges straight up retail for the Opus X. Last year I bought five torpedoes for $14 a piece, they show a lot of integrity by this as they could do what other local shops do and charge at least double that. I hope CB is okay with my mentioning my local tobacconist. They don't have a website or anything, just a small cigar shop.

Jazzman, He told me they didn't have any also. Then he took them from a locked locker. (Hmmm a locked locker? Sounds redundant when I hear it.) Maybe he thought I was someone important.
Other places say the next batch is not expected until November/December. Nice to meet you also.
Why was there a patient on a gurney lying on the floor of the firestation? The ambulance was next to her in the firehouse. Shouldn't they take them to a hospital or something?

Walk-in patients. What will they think of next?
We are going to Port Aransas for Labor Day. I love to sit in a lawn chair and let the waves hit against my feet while smoking a nice cigar and watching the kids play in the surf and sand. I will smoke one of them there. (opus not kids)
Happy 50th to you when it gets here!

Did I just get one of the -BLECCHH- bad ones? My smoking friends told me to save the Opus that I happened upon for a special occasion. I did just that. The SOB would not stay lit and tasted like the proverbial rocket of dog. Terrible! Should I give these big 'spense (for me) smokes another chance?
