Ok - I'm trying something new here, if any of you have tried anything similar that worked, please let me know.

In a tuppor, not my Avallo, I placed the following:

1/4 cup PG; 1/4 cup grain alcohol; mixed with freshly diced apples, peaches, strawberries, and 4 cinnamon sticks.

I took the humidity down to 62% prior to placing the cigars in the container, to give me a little more leeway in ensuring I do not 'over-humidify' them.

Cigars placed in container: (1) Montecristo # 2 Torpedo;
(1) Nat Sherman Vanderbilt;
(2) Padron 5000 Maduro Wrapper;
(4) Romeo & Julieta Belicoso.

Any ideas other than I may have wasted a fistful of decent cigars? I'll get the humidity to 70% - if it goes over, I'll take the tape off the small holes I drilled in it to lower it - or tape up a few others to raise it; don't laugh - it does work. Anyway - ideas ?

Just curious ... as to why you would want to do this in the first place?

Just my opinion, but I think you are wasting your time. It shouldn't hurt the cigars ... and I don't think you will accomplish the desired results.

I honestly hope you don't ruin some good cigars ...

And for his next trick, he's going to make a 4 assed monkey.

Oh yeah, you are bored. I'd say you'll have more fun making the four assed monkey.

Sounds like a good idea. Will those fruits last long enough without spoiling? Is the alcohol to keep the fruit from spoiling? For your first trick you should try using apple peals or orange peels. They will dry fine and have the smell. You should be able to infuse an alcohol smell by soaking a sponge with alcohol and stick it in the bottom of the container. Some of that apple liquore might give a nice taste. Also you should have started with some cheap cigars.
I picture a big mess of gross fruit within a week. Good Luck

Good note: Starting over now, will dehydrate the fruits PRIOR to putting in ..... will add orange peel as well. Thanks- it'll help avoid fruit flies ....

X: yes - I know - they use similar spices in their leaves before making the cigar. Just trying to see what I'll end up with here.

I've been thinking about trying a similar experiment.

Get a pair of sweat socks and wear them for a solid week

Soak the socks in vinegar

Shove some cigars inside of the socks

Place socks with cigars in a freshly emptied jar of jalepeno peppers

Allow 2-3 months of aging to occur

Remove sticks and torch them

Place outside around the deck to ward off insects

The G.D. Purist usally shoot any notion of flavored cigars down, and I do not hold flavored sticks in any high place myself, but an experiment to explore cigar application i am all for it. Hope it goes well. I am trying to improve some mediocre stogies myself. I have them in a Glass jar Humidor with a Shot of Dark Rum atop the humidiator. RH is about 72%. They've been there about six or seven weeks now.. have to try one soon to see if it helped... Good Luck..

x, the problem with using lone wolf's is that they can attract undesirables as well as overbidders.

Jimmy, The guys from Acid were probly treated the same way as these guys are are treating you. When you are rich and famous you can send them a box of Cojimars. Wrapped in stinky sweat socks of course. Good Luck

AH1200 is mine as well ... full lenght sliders on the two cedar drawers, extra cedar slots/spacers to divide the drawers like boxes, digimonitor humidification and 6 fans.... works EXCELLENT.

CW:

Why were you compelled to use the words 'crack' and 'a$$' in the same sentence?

You've been doing similar in other posts recently.

Trying to tell us something?
