Not a hater...not a fan, either. He's a buffoon. Support our government? Please....I'm in my 35th year of dedicated service to it....last question....fu....I might be closer to subscribing that blind faith in our leaders or in Fox News is less a true supporter than anyone who continually, and rationally, questions what our government is doing.

Same questions could have been asked to the people who didn't like or support Obama.

They have both done things quite worthy of our derision.

Not a fan of Trump but the major news outlets(outside of Fox with some exceptions) are really after him ... Some due to Trump's inability to pick his fights,p political immaturity etc. others due to what I believe is a simple desire to take him down. Obama had it rough, but it looks to me that this election etc. has taken things to a new level.

It is sad...but the media seems to be a reflection of society more than I wanted to admit for many years....I want unbiased news and the editorials and opinions to be clearly identified as such. But for some depressing reason, the individual media outlets are like so many people lately....think a certain way...celebrate those that think the same way and reward those that agree...forgo intelligent discussion and inspection in favor of praising those that validate your opinions and eternally damn anyone that disagrees. So much of our society (and media) has totally given up on the willingness to listen to opposing views, acknowledge and respect differing opinions, and maintain an open mind when it comes to news or current events. I hereby declare the death of critical thinking...or at the very least pay my last respects to it as it barely exists on life support

Disagreeing with the president does not mean I hate him. Also I would have disagreed with most of what Hillary would have done. Dsteiger's opinion basically covers mine. I would add that I think we have an all time low in cooperation between Democrats and Republicans, which is bad for America.

I despise Dump and did before he was Pres. But that doesn't mean I hate America, Ray. If that is what you are saying, then **** you. I'm also not rooting for him to fail at being the President. He is, of course, but I'm not joyful about it. He's a dangerous buffoon. He has no diplomacy skills and obviously can't even keep his mouth shut. Do I wish Hillary had won? Nope.....I wanted the Johnson. But I WILL continue to bash Trump. I will NOT shut up. He's a f*cking clown and has got to go.

I don't hate Trump. I just think that he and everyone in his administration do not represent nor are they working for a majority of the citizens in this country. I will also go so far as to add the current republican leadership in congress to this list. fog

Nice straw man argument. We aren't discussing the democrats in this thread. I do feel that the majority of elected officials only have one priority once elected; that is to stay in power and milk the system. fog

I personally believe that the general voting public is partially to blame for this because the majority are too lazy &/or stupid to participate in the governance of this county. We vote for these people. Shouldn't we all be working to make our government represent all of the people? I would add that big money needs to be removed from the election process.

I would suggest that not just Republican congressmen but Democrats as well are basically self serving. Some donnybrooks may get elected thinking they are going to deliver pie in the sky to those that elected them but that soon changes as they are consumed by the machine.

Buckweat it was not a strawman argument or an argument but a question with an added bit of humor....
Q

PS I have been away for a while and do not remember everyone's political views. So a question was in order. Besides when one throws the leadership of one party under the bus,it leads to a question about the other.

I'm beginning to understand the deep level of emotional opposition that some people felt for Obama in my opinions about Trump...I think my health coverage provides counseling...I'd better take advantage of it before the GOP takes away my coverage...after all, I am an old, poor guy with premonitions...

So wait, it was okay that millions who'd been paying into a healthcare policy for years LOST their coverage all together and were FORCED to participate in Obummercare while being LIED to about " keeping their doctors" and you equate that to being the same as the GOP re-working the Un-Affordable Care Act to actually make it affordable to actually use....not just " be in a plan" Yes...a little counseling might be in order :)

Haven't " read it" don't really know, the pubs should have allowed ACA to self implode so that the Obama Dems could OWN it's failure lock stock and barrel. There was a very good reason they were rolling the ACA out slowly and over time and wouldn't tell the general public crap about it until we owned it.

...that attempt at humor obviously missed the mark...didn't mean to turn this into a healthcare discussion...but...

Obamacare will collapse because many insurance companies are pulling out, hoping to squeeze higher profits out of the market when the mandate and subsidized medicaid is pulled...why sell a good policy with a lot of coverage people really need when you can wait a few months and sell a POS without much coverage for more money, plus you can charge whatever you want or not sell insurance to those with pre-existing conditions?

Obamacare will collapse because the mandate to buy insurance won't be enforced by the Trump IRS/DOJ and the Trump WH has already said it will pull the plug for funding on subsidies for Medicaid

A new report by Edmund Haislmaier, a senior research fellow for the Center for Health Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation, shows ACA has in fact limited consumers’ health insurance options by driving numerous insurers out of the Obamacare marketplace. According to Haislmaier, there are now only 287 “exchange-participating insurers,” down from 307 in 2015 and significantly less than the 395 insurers Haislmaier says were in operation in the 50 states and Washington, DC in 2013, only one year prior to the opening of the ACA health insurance marketplace.

Haislmaier also says 22 states and Washington, DC, representing 45 percent of all states, now have fewer health insurance providers offering plans than they did just one year ago. Only 10 states have managed to increase the number of insurers in their health insurance marketplaces.

Among the 45 exchange insurer departures, 31 were “voluntary exits,” and 21 of those resulted from insurers pulling completely out of all ACA exchanges.

The primary reason insurers are leaving Obamacare exchanges is cost. ACA provisions—notably the individual mandate, the requirement insurers must cover pre-existing conditions, and coverage requirements—are leading to higher enrollment rates for more expensive, traditionally uninsured Americans without increasing the pool of younger, healthier health insurance consumers, many of whom are finding Obamacare too expensive.
