I quit Chase a long time ago ... biggest a$$holes I ever dealt with ... they bought WaMu where I had been banking and I became unhappy with them within weeks ...
MrsS was using Wells Fargo for her business banking and gave me the name of a really nice guy to see there ... well, he WAS a nice guy and took good care of me ... in fact, he was SO nice, he opened a second account for me without my even asking ... I discovered it when I noticed money being debited from my account and went to see Mr. Nice Guy to find out what was going on ... his explanation was goofy, but he 'fixed' things by having the system return the money to my primary account automatically within hours of the time it was debited ...
that left me where I thought I was in the first place .... which was OK until a check hit the bank during those hours that the money was in the goofy acc't and there wasn't enough to cover it ... by the time they dinged me for the auto coverage, I DID have less money in my acc't than I thought ...
well, they refunded the fee, but still, it was a pain in the a$$ to have to go down and show 'em what had happened ... then, it happened a second time and they wouldn't refund the money, saying it was a 'one time courtesy gesture' on their part ... I pointed out it was their fault in the first place it had happened and I shouldn't need their furshlugginer courtesy gesture ...
Long story short (if it's not already too late for that), I made a huge public fuss in the branch and embarrassed them all to hell in front of several dozen customers ... they made me whole after a while whereupon I went to a Credit Union that serves Silicon Valley personnel, opened an acc't with a WF check for all the money I had there ... then, after the check cleared, I went to WF and told them to go pound sand ...
I'm pretty happy with the CU ... no funky monkey business, very straightforward and easy online banking in addition to treating me like solid gold when I choose to go into the branch ...
