Lol - don't doubt that. Learned some Mandarin classroom basics like "do you need to go to the potty," "it's time to sit down," "let's go," and "Mommy will be back soon," & the like from random apps, and they seemed to work okay...All of my Chinese former students speak English fluently now and show no signs of permanent emotional scarring from me saying unintentionally horrible or weird things to them, anyway! Every year when I get ANOTHER Mandarin-only kiddo, I tell myself I really need to just try to learn the damn language, so... looking for options that fit into the life madness as much as possible.
Delta - I think duolinguo is one of the apps I used with my Chinese students, and it's the one the Princess uses for her Spanish class; wonder if/how it would work in the car?
Thinking that, on those 4 hour drives to Boise, it suuuuuure would be preferable to what I do now (Sinatra vs Imagine Dragons playlist debate with princess, followed by her plugging into headphones and randomly demanding that I turn down my horrible old-person music. By the way, do you know that ZZ Top is on the OLDIES station now??? SOOOOOOOO many kinds of wrong.)
Is the coffee still hot? I brought my own BSU mug...never go anywhere without it!
