more guys signing up with others asking questions ... at this rate, it could be 15 or more players ... not a bad payout for the winner ... and, because I'm being asked for details, here's how it'll work
Each Tuesday I will send out a list of the matchups for that week ... by Friday of the week (or by Wed if there's a Thurs game), each participant will send me an e-mail predicting the winners of each game plus predicting the score of the MNF game ... winner will be the person predicting the most correct games with the score of the MNF game serving as a tie-breaker ... because I will send everyone a copy of all predictions ahead of game time, each participant will know all predictions of all the others in the group, making it possible for everyone to see on a game by game basis who's winning and who's not ... then, each Tues when the next matchups are sent out, the name/address of the previous week winner will also be sent ... a cigar will be sent to the weekly winner by each other member in the group ... most of the guys didn't want to send cigars every week, so we'll send them after week 4, 8, 12, and 17, then after the Super Bowl for the playoff games ... that way there'll be only 5 trips to the post office, but still the same number of cigars sent out ... maximum loss would be about 22 cigars over the course of the season for someone who didn't win at all on any week ... with 10 participating, winner each week will get 9 cigars, more if more guys sign up ...
since no one else would volunteer, I said I'd be the administrator for the price of one cigar from each player to cover the season ... gotta admit I've wondered about my sanity to do it for the price, considering that means 9 or ? cigars for 20 weeks of work, but hey, that's what I said going in, so what the hell ... and, maybe there'll be several more players so the total of all payoffs will be higher ... still, it's just one cigar per participant per week that's being wagered plus one to cover the admin ...
I figure we can take more players anytime someone else wants to join, so who knows how high it might go ... and probably, like most office pools, someone'll drop out, you never know ...
