Can anyone recommend a xikar or zino davidoff cutter? I've been using a $10 double blade or my keychain punch for a while now. Is the difference really worth the extra $40-$50??

Someone reccommended the Xikar on line here, so I bought one. It works very well, makes a clean cut. However it is a bit hard to hold onto while cutting. I still use it some, but I prefer my double blade cutter.....Russ

I just checked and my double blade cutter is a zino davidoff cutter and yes it is worth the extra money. It makes a perfect cut everytime. I've had it for years and it never needs sharpening. If you want the best buy one.....Russ

I put $50 cigar cutters in the same category as $20 cigars. Seldom if ever are they any better than the economically priced alternatives. If the $10 cutter works and doesn't mangle the end of your cigar then why upgrade? I've tried a variety of cutters including Xikar and Colibri that friends have purchased and don't find them any better than my, $3 double guillotine or my $9 bullet. Unless you're out to impress someone with a $50 cutter, I say save your money and use it to buy a handfull of cigars. penzt8

Zikar is a pretty good cutter. I even used it to circumcise my son when he was born. Of course, I cut my celebratory gar first!

I love my Xikar....I've had it for three months and it's as sharp as the first day I bought it...I use it everyday too...Definitely worth the $$$...I was sick of those disposable plastic cutters (double-bladed) ripping the s**t out of my good smokes, tearing the wrappers...The Xikar is perfect everytime.

Russ head it on the head, or clipped it, the Zino is outstanding, and mine is going on a year and still razor sharp. I also bought the Xicar cutter on an auction. Why you ask with clenched teeth? Because I get so bored, I get so bloddy bored. But it is decent, but an earlier post was also right about holding and cutting with it. I am still trying to find a cutter to easily clip my Casa Blanca's with the hefty 60 ring.

I have two of the Xikar cutters, and I LOVE them!! I have used several other types of high $$ cutters, and I feel each have there pros and cons. Whether you or not you purchase the Xikar, a good quality cutter is well worth the $$ spent. IMHO, besides its great cut, the Xikar looks cool. It scores high points for design!
