Anyone know the 411 on the reintroduction of Diesel Hair of the Dog? For years now, it's been quasi-discontinued, and only available in samplers, but now all of a sudden it's apparently been reintroduced and now boxes are available again.
Here are the specs for the original release, from numerous 2013 web reviews:
Quote:Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Ligero
Binder: Mexican San Andres
Filler: Nicaraguan (Esteli & Ometepe)
And here are the specs from the mothership's current Hair of the Dog product page:
Quote:"A savory combination of bold, Honduran long-leaf tobaccos, skillfully married with refined Honduran binder. On the outside, a thick and redolent Sun Grown wrapper glistens with oils."
Notice it's totally different (Ecuadorian/Nicaraguan/Mexican changed to Honduran, etc.).
I ALMOST bought 3 boxes today (because the original really WAS so great), but they went out-of-stock before I could. Now I'm thinking perhaps I should be GLAD they did, as it gave me time to research and find the above very interesting information.
Anyone have any info about this? Thanks.
