So I win these 2 auctions on a competitors website. Yea, I know. Why go anywhere else. So anyway, I win 2 auctions. Then I get an email stating that they are holding my shipment because the need "Age Verification." So I call up and a service rep says, "Well you've been ordering from us since 2006." So she transfers me to someone else. She says there's nothing they can do. I need to send proof of age to them. Like a copy of my drivers license. I told them to cancel my 2 winning auctions. WTF ?????????

I had that exact same experience here on this site... first time bid winner, though long time customer of CI. Was resolved in maybe 2 minutes of conversation and common sense by a very nice gal.
I thought it was curious also.

It is the new regulations coming into affect. Not that big a deal honestly, scan you DL and email it. Probably take 2 minutes of your time and save 20% of your spending. I believe they should have been doing this from the beginning, 14 year olds could be on here getting tobacco the way it was set up. Now the threat of a big old fine has started to put some common sense into online retailers. Same goes for alcohol, they don't verify age enough either and could be delivering to any kid that gets ahold of their parents card or has a bank account with a visa debit. Most kids over 13 have that today.

I'd rather it be age verification instead of all together banning online sales.
It's coming soon enough across the board I think.

I get that. But when you have been ordering from them since 2006, common sense maybe ?

Plausible deniability. A 16 year old signs up under his dad and sends his ID in. It's not on the seller at that point as their point of contact is assumed to be that who is represented on the information provided.
Also get that common sense says someone ordering since 2006 is of age. But customer service can't circumvent if company policy is all accounts must have id on file before a sale is sent.

someone
may find some silly reason to put you on a time out in the dungeon, if for nothing else, just to "validate" your claim here...

That's what you get for overseeing from a competitor. Traitor! I bet the age verification was urged by the CI ladies. Haha
And we all know I am 13, so what?!?
