Then I heard the news report that she had justified black face and I thought ya, idiot for sure...
Then I read her actual comments...
“You do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface for Halloween, or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. Back when I was a kid, that was okay just as long as you were dressing as a character.”
Wtactualf? Where's the offensive part? There's a picture in my parents hallway of me and my brother dressed in blackface in the mid 80s... Wasnt a big deal to anyone at the time to anyone we knew because we were dressing as a character...
Just going out on a limb here. I think the offensive part is the fact that one, it spilled out from a Caucasian Female, two, it spilled out from a fairly wealthy Caucasian Female, three it spilled out from a well known, fairly wealthy, Caucasian female. Last, It spilled out from a well known, fairly wealthy, Caucasian female, who is on TV. So my assumption right off the bat is that typical society's take on the matter is that a famous, wealthy, entitled, privileged, white cracker, who is on TV done went and opened her mouth about "Black Face" and it pissed some people off. When in reality she was just saying "This is not how things were in my day, I do not understand."
Just a guess on my end as I don't know for a fact this is the case. Its just how I view the world as my perception is my reality and we all know, Everyone's perception is different and I very well could be a little Re Re and
just not know it.
