Scream (original 1996) is on Netflix.
That is on my list for tonight.
Also Jacob's Ladder - a recommended psycho thriller that I haven't seen.

I still suggest Sleepaway Camp. It's Friday the 13th with a twist at the end that scarred me for life.
I have seen Sleepaway somewhere. Sounds so familiar. Maybe Shudder?

Re: Quiet Place - OK, I admit a couple items in the story could have been a little tighter. I won't detail for any whom might want to see. But basically have to suspend some disbelief and take in the mentality of a family fighting for survival and enjoy the intense, unrelenting suspense of it.
I feel the ending, while not shown, strongly suggested which way things were heading. As far as never finding out where they came from, that part makes perfect sense. With the world decimated so quickly, there would have been no resources to investigate and determine origin. The incongruous part in my mind was the amount of clippings about the attack and how to avoid detection. There isn't going to be any paperboy making deliveries in that environment

The Fly, the Jeff Goldblum version was pretty good....haven't seen it in a looooong time though
Willard, the 1971 version was scary...saw it at the drive-in when it came out....I moved into the car with Mom and Dad to watch that one

I wouldn't call it a horror film, but one of the all time great phsycological thrillers, The Game.

I'm not sure it was horror...or even a thriller, but few scenes scared me like the 'dental' scene in Marathon Man

we've probably strayed from pure horror genre into suspense and stuff, but that dental scene was intense.

Skyview! Was that Avon or maybe Braintree?
we used to go to the one on VFW in W. Roxbury where the high school and Home Depot now reside.

Don't Breathe:
Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex and Money are three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people. Money gets word about a blind veteran who won a major cash settlement following the death of his only child. Figuring he's an easy target, the trio invades the man's secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim.
Although it's a newer flick, and not necessarily a horror, more so suspense/thriller, it definitely provides a scare. Awesome movie, awesome concept.

Hope you like it...a minor theft of a concept from the film Being John Malkovich but no harm no foul...
and it's amazing how smoothly Jordan Peele moved from funny TV guy to movie maker.

I swear by
SHUDDER
... You guys really need to check this out.
👉 shudder.com 👈
Complete streaming service dedicated strictly to horror movies. There is a little of everything on here: horror, slasher, psycho thrillers, a mix of everything we have been talking about.
They give you a free trial and then after that it is 5 bucks a month. Can't beat it.
I have found at least three of the Halloween movies, including first original, Dracula (1974), Night of the Living Dead, and other classics.
Good mixture of older and newer stuff on here.
