So, we follow quickly on the heels of the Saga of Alabama.... with our first couple installments of what I would like to call.... Tali-BANNED
So... 07Sep19 (just 4 days before the anniversary of 9-11) our dear leader announced in the most presidential way possible, that he cancelled a secret meeting with the taliban, in which he was going to do peace stuff.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
"Unbeknownst to almost everyone, the major Taliban leaders and, separately, the President of Afghanistan, were going to secretly meet with me at Camp David on Sunday. They were coming to the United States tonight. Unfortunately, in order to build false leverage, they admitted to..
....an attack in Kabul that killed one of our great great soldiers, and 11 other people. I immediately cancelled the meeting and called off peace negotiations. What kind of people would kill so many in order to seemingly strengthen their bargaining position? They didn’t, they....
....only made it worse! If they cannot agree to a ceasefire during these very important peace talks, and would even kill 12 innocent people, then they probably don’t have the power to negotiate a meaningful agreement anyway. How many more decades are they willing to fight?"
The attack he is referencing occurred on 05Sep, but we can forgive him for being a couple days late... I'm sure he was very very busy.

Now, mostly what caught people's eye on this, besides the fact that he was apparently going to have some Taliban over right before 9-11 (honestly, that part doesn't bother me at all. A date is just a date, no reason to not try to have peace talks because it's a couple days before 9-11) was that he should be anti-chatting with the taliban, given his public statements in the past:
Jan 2012 tweet
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
"While @BarackObama is slashing the military, he is also negotiating with our sworn enemy the Taliban--who facilitated 9/11."
Tweet June 2014:
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
"@elChucacabra: @realDonaldTrump Obama can strike a deal with the Taliban, but can't make a deal with congress."
and a horde of other tweets which are mostly upset about the quality of the deal with the taliban, not necessarily that a deal was made.
So.... trump's being hypocritical. Nothing particularly new there, he has done this multiple times before (doing something as president which he criticized obama for in the past).
And here's where tail will complain, as we have to rely on the evil media.
NBC has reported on 08Sep that the Taliban had refused to attend the meeting, not that thrumpy cancelled it.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/secret-taliban-peace-talks-camp-david-floated-scrapped-within-week-n1051286
From the article: A senior Taliban leader told NBC News Monday that Trump appears to have cancelled the negotiations after the group refused to travel to Camp David to hold direct talks with the Afghan leadership.
"We have informed Zalmay Khalilzad a number of times that we don’t consider Ashraf Ghani and his administration as a legitimate government and therefore we refused to hold direct talks with them,” the Taliban leader based in Qatar said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Now, NBC goes further to explicitly state:
NBC News could not confirm the claims and the Taliban offered no evidence to back them up and is known for being untruthful and for exaggerating claims.
Ironically, that same statement could be made about trumpenfurher with absolutely no hyperbole.
So, as of this morning, we are left with Trumpenfurher claiming he cancelled it, the taliban claiming they were not going to attend because the talks included afghanistan
To date, it appears consistent that the taliban will not meet directly with afghanistan...
And neither trumpy nor the taliban are really trustworthy sources of information....
But I have great hope that we will get more moronic tweets about this in the near future.
