Thanks for the reminder 8... And thank you everyone for the prayers...
From Laurie:
Well, the surgery is complete and Dino is at the moment resting comfortably. He is enduring a lot of pain. According to the doctor, the surgery went very well and he was able to remove the tumor and also some nearby lymph nodes. The tumor had not grown. He is doing as well as can be expected, his nurse said he is progressing normally. However, she said that his pain level was off the charts before we went into the room and they had to give him quite a bit of medication even though he has an epidural and a nerve block. The surgeon had to do an open surgery as opposed to the video assisted thoracic surgery...This translates to a harder recovery, nevertheless the doctor was pleased with the outcome and is confident Dino will be fine. The tumor was biopsied on the spot and it was determined to be an adenocarcinoma. That means that it is a slower growing tumor, more in the mucus cells, and a little bit easier to treat. His lymph nodes were swollen....Which is why they were removed. The doctor is uncertain whether they were swollen because of the surgery or if there is more malignancy. We will know more in a few days. I do not recommend anyone visiting Dino today or tomorrow. If you would like to visit, I am sure he would love to see you, maybe beginning this weekend, but Iโm going to be a newborn mama on this one and insist that you be in super swell shape and in no way harboring an illness. We appreciate everybodyโs love, support, prayers and friendship. Dino loves everyone of you.
