In most cases I would say no.First off had the politicians done their jobs and supported a war we were in like it or not the outcome would have been different IMHO.
Had DC directed resources to the field of battle rather than their pockets the war would have turned out different IMO.
We eventually won this battle just not in the trenches where it should've been won.Communism was defeated but at a much greater loss of life and it took til the late 80's.
Had the protestors directed their venom towards DC rather young men who just answered when their country called the war would have turned out different IMO.
Having been brought up and trained by mostly Nam Vets in my early days I realized their distrust of the public was brought on by their awful treatment upon return.Their distrust of the government was quite obvious. Many of their battle scars were suffered right here on American soil and I may be biased but that should never happen. You can support the Soldier/Sailor without supporting the war.I was and am really disappointed in humans who have the capability of doing this.If you didn't put it all on the line leave the front line guys out of it.......Go attack a **** ing congressman.Rant over and none it directed at you Frank..........I'm just a little impassioned about those guys as most of them sadly are gone now.
None of this means I would blindly support any war but I will never dishonor those that get called up to prosecute the war regardless of it's lack of popularity.
