First order newbie. Are these ready to smoke upon arrival?

I'm assuming not. How long should I stick them in the humidor for? I only bought 3 5-packs for my first order. I'm dipping my toes in the water before I dive in head first into the deep end. Lol

Well LOL have you received your order yet ? If not, you better keep your fingers crossed. There seems t be delays and lots of problems at CBID and customer service can't answer the phone quickly enough resulting in hold time of about 2 hours on a slow day. Different rest times for different cigars. I usually wait a couple of weeks on some while most are in for a year or longer nap. If you do light one up right after delivery and it's ok -you can smoke them right away. If it's harsh, tastes of ammonia or another taste, put them away for at least six months before trying again. Some times a 5 pack is not enough.

If you're a Platinum Member, they should arrive aged ahead of time, and without the harsh ammonia taste (as Tonygraz mentions). I found this out the hard way, before I upgraded my membership.

I am not a platinum member. Is that something that you can upgrade or is it automatic after a certain amount of money is spent on the website? Or is this one of those ol' rookie hazing pranks?

I have never had a good experience with smoking something ROTT so I normally wait at least 3 weeks (...many times longer...) before sparking a new one up. Cigars from CBid are typically shipped over-humidified so letting them settle into the RH you prefer would make for a better smoking experience. BUT, there are some here that prefer smoking them fresh so if you wanna ash one up as soon as they arrive, its not a mortal sin.

Pm CelticBomber with your order number and he will put you on the list to be approved . Free matches and faster shipping it's worth it. Usually takes a few days for him to reply. He stays pretty busy taking care of alot of the problems.

You should attend one of the VHerfs and “meet” Celtic, then you’ll see why he’s been anointed as the CBid Forum Customer Service Liaison.

I am down. I just need to wait until it cools off a little. Right now, my cigars light themselves when I step outside.

Our overnight low was 93 last night.

I've had several that were decent rott, but generally, as suggested, will improve with rest. Timeframe varies. Trial and error recommended
