Haven't had that problem yet, but the Platinum membership does help by bypassing alot of red tape. And I've been biding since BC, so there is that.

Ask them when we prove we're all adults if they'll finally stop blocking words and allow nips in the pic forums... Mellow

Everybody lies. If it comes down to it I will submit a scan of my ID if it means maintaining the ability of bidding on the sweet deals we get through this site but age verification (when it is implemented) is just something the site owners can point to and say "there is no legal recourse against children who lied to us, what exactly was the point of this age verification other than to eventually come to the point where I am explaining how pointless it is?

I won't fault the individual sites demanding an age verification but I will fault the politicians who write laws that are so poorly written that the wording suggests they are idiots who think kids are trying to score some decent long-fillers.

The closest thing to a cigar I smoked when I was underage was a swisher sweet and we hollowed out them suckers for something else and the funniest part is that something else is more legal now than it ever was and no amount of laws are going to stop kids from smoking any more than the laws that were already in place when I was a kid stopped me from smoking and drinking as a teenager.

CA and DE have passed new bills that prohibits the sale of tobacco to anyone under the age of 21.

For more information, please visit

https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201920200SB39

https://delcode.delaware.gov/title30/c053/sc06/index.shtml

The law invalidates any previous proof we may have had on file.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Also, you can get your age verified right from your online account.

Sign in, go to my account, dashboard and then age verification.

Here, it will let you know what's required for your state's requirements.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

I heard that you can get around the online age verification if you scan in your Driver's License as well as your Social Security number and send the PDF to [email protected].

alternatively, you can mail your Driver's License, Social Security card and a $10 processing fee to the Cbid headquarters and they will complete it for you. They send the documents back when you win your first lot.

So they are requiring a copy of your ID? I am sure they would accept a picture of it taken with your phone.

The problem is not everyone has a scanner sadly. But I am sure they would accept a picture of it taken via phone as I said in my above post.

If you don't have a scanner you just mail them the license itself and they'll scan it for you... easy peasy.

It'd be better to recommend a visit to office depot at that point. I could mail in my license (if it was the only option) because I work from home but some people have to drive to work and a cop isn't going to be thrilled about your license being in the mail.

My account info just shows my birth date, I would have to assume that's good enough, but I rarely buy any cigars anymore. I have way too many already for my lifetime, most likely. As well, plenty more to share with others. I have recently been passing some along to my new local liquor store owner. Gets me the chance to get a little better prices on the HTF stuff.

HA! They had me as 10 years old.

40 years off the mark... but it was relatively simple to upload my CA driver's license.

Not like I bid on cigars here anyway. They don't sell Havanas, or Padron's, Or Opus or VSG's... so...

I haven't bought for years. Had to put in a real credit card last week so I could get an 8oz tin of SPC Plum Pudding on free fall for $25.

Actually on topic, a competitor site just sent me an email asking to have us "test" their age verification system that's being implemented, and in return they give us a code for $10 off $100 or more.

Kind of a nice way to introduce it.

I have 2 orders in processing and have sent all requested information. I have not heard back form anyone. I have called the customer service number twice and wasn't able to talk to anyone. The first time I was on hold for an hour then hung up and I am on the phone now for 30 minutes waiting for someone to answer.
