After watching it...it's Trayvon Martin all over again. What came out in "street court" doesn't reflect facts. Did any of this merit him dying? Nope.

He clearly wasn't obeying the basic commands that ANYONE would have to in regards to a traffic stop. He amped up the situation by acting the way he did. It's pretty clear he's distraught, on something or both. He was clearly resisting arrest. This wasn't his 1st altercation with the police. Looking at the record of this guy he was going back to prison and he knew it. He was screaming "I can't breathe" and all they were doing was dragging him across the back seat to load him up because he wouldn't comply. No chokehold or knee on the neck there. It'll be interesting to hear the other officer's takes in court and see their cam footage as well. All of the facts are not in yet, yet that city burned and how many after this?

Reddit may take it down, but it will be available from other sources forever. What a shame he ended up dead. I wish they had tasered him as many times as necessary to gain control of him. But, that is not to say that the cops did anything wrong in the video footage. From everything I have seen and heard, I believe they acted reasonably (until the cop put his knee on his neck).

I am under no illusion that this guy was some kind of saint, but...his behavior didn't matter. His previous record didn't matter. Once he stopped talking and moving, the situation changed, and the FOUR police officers should have de-escalated and checked him out. My prediction is that Chauvin will end up getting a few years in prison for criminally negligent homicide or assault, the two officers on his back and legs will get light jail sentences (> 1 year) for assault or criminal negligence, and the fourth guy just standing there will get nothing.

BD1 the video did not “clear” anything up but it sure put some context into the altercation and certainly burned a narrative to a crisp. Up till the knee it seems to be a completely legit interaction, and with the drugs that were reported the coroners report seems to hold more weight IMO.

There’s NO GD WAY that Murder charge is going to stick.
