Winning at somebody else's stadium.
My great seats became unbelievable seats when the masses left early.
Let's just say that Vinny and Chad had no problem hearing my words of, er, "encouragement".

1997 world series, game 2 Indians vs. Marlins. We paid a big chunk of change to fly to miami and sat in the bleachers. the tribe won big and it made for a great weekend. the only major prob was the end result after 7 games. to this day i'm still saddened thinking about it.

CJB, it could've been worse ... I remember the first major league game I ever saw ... spring training in '54 ... Giants vs. Indians ...

That turned out to be the World Series matchup that year, too ... but, your guys, despite winning 111 of their 154 regular season games, went 4 and out against my guys ...

Think about it ... if you'd had the opportunity to do so, you could'a spent a chunk of change to go to New York and sit in the Polo Ground bleachers only to have your heart broken by Willie Mays making that spectacular over-the-shoulder catch in deep center field (but you've probably seen the film of him doing that ... it was in the news ... lol)

Since you didn't, you are not in the autographed pic I have of the catch.

There would be no reason to do so ... and no one did.

Tailgater, mine was not as pleasant. I went to Oakland a few years ago and watched the Cowboys give the 7-0 (I think) Raiders their first loss of the season. We were tormented in the parking lot and when Deion made an interseption beer rained down on us from behind. We were on the first row of a balcony so I was afraid we were gonna get tossed over. Some of our abuse could have been caused by me. When Tim Brown was hurt I blurted out "I hope he is not one of their important players." Then when he stayed down for minutes I yelled "Dig a hole and bury him right there". The Raiders did not recover that year and missed the playoffs that year. Away games can be fun!

I would love to go to Philadelpia to watch the Cowboys kick their butts. I hear their fans are not friendly.

I went to Philly two years ago to watch my then-happless Patriots lose to a bunch of no-named schmucks. Guys like Deuce, and Donovan...
And the fans aren't that tough in the city of brotherly love.
Raiders fans may look tough like Gene Simmons, but they are no scarier than Richard Simmons...

Tailgater, The game is not the same when the Cowboys are involved. Everybody has an opinon of them. They sell out all stadiums. People pay for a chance watch the Cowboys get beat. How many times have I heard "My favorite team is whoever is playing the Cowboys." Why do you think the Cardnals are so upset. They will not have their yearly sell out any more.
The Raiders had some really hardcore fans. By the third quarter all of the drinks, cups, papers, signs, programs, etc. from behind us were tossed at us. In the parking lot before the game you could tell exactly where we were by the screaming. I was hit "accidentally" by two footballs.
But, I would happily return.
The best thing about the trip was the Roaring 20s club in San Fransisco. I wonder if SteveS has been there. LOL

SteveS has been to some pretty good places, but the Roaring 20's is not among them ... this joint is one of the hotspots along "Bawd-way" that could be seen in the opening footage of the old tv show "Streets of San Francisco" ... very near "Big Al's Condor Club" that was made famous by Carol Doda, whose 3 story high neon figure with it's two red lights was THE most prominent thing in those scenes.
