October Box Pass

I am am going to run a box pass in October and I am looking for 10-15 participants. There will be a variety of premium smokes in the box (see partial list below).

A sheet for takes and puts will be included along with address labels and shipping order of the box. Shipping order will also be posted here for reference.

Once you have received the box in the pass, you may take a 3-4 cigars, and replace it with other cigars of equal or greater value. You may not place a lower quality/valued cigar (no machine made, no Gurkhas, etc.) in the pass.

If you are planning on not being around when the box is to arrive at your home/office, PLEASE let me know so I can re-route the pass. Box turn around should be 4 days max.

If the cigar box requires any work, such as increasing humidity or repackaging/replacing the box, please do so. No one wants to receive a box of dried, crushed cigars.

Post your takes and puts for group approval.

Post tracking number when shipped.

For the sake of this going well you should do a search on past passes for ground rules and I would add that the postal service is taking excessive time even with priority shipping.

Rooting for a positive pass so don’t accept Kombat96 into the pass, that dunk ruins ever pass.

+1

Tightening up the approval process for Puts & Takes could save a bunch of headaches later on. As well as who “qualifies” for the pass.

To paraphrase from a TV commercial: Chose wisely my friend. fog

You can do the approval “process” any which way you please but from what I’ve experienced:

1. Pass originator only can approve via PM or thread post(s)
2. Puts and Takes are posted then the other members of the pass voice their approval / disapproval
3. No real process, you just hope and pray that everyone is fair and honest.

As far as who you want in the pass, you might wanna set a minimum standard based upon:

1. A vet or someone you feel comfortable with who will vouch for that person and make good should anything happen while he / she has the box.
2. Time on CBid
3. Number of posts
4. X amount of trades / PIBs
5. No standard(s), everyone who’s interested is in

I will point out that in the most recent Elitist pass, there was a moment when it seemed like one of the members disappeared. But, he had communicated to the pass originator that he was gonna be off the gird for a bit. The originator forgot that one small detail so it did raise some concern. It was suggested for future passes to have either e-mail addresses or cell phone numbers available. Or even a Call and Response - e.g., Player A, after his P/T are approved, posts “Hey Joe, I’m ready to send out the box.” Player B / Joe must confirm that he’s ready. If not then either send to the next person or wait until Joe’s ready.

Ultimately the decision on who’s in as well as rules or no rules at all is totally up to you.

Good luck with the pass! ThumpUp

Sheesh! Where’d you get those unicorns David? I mean, gosh, the 5 Vegas is legendary, ain’t it? And the V.S. (pre-cut?) has been on my “Gotta Try Someday” list for like f-o-r-e-v-e-r! I don’t know much about the Mac but assume it’s a htf too?
