I've considered it, but don't really see the benefit over just buying a used factory Glock.

If it's going around the 4473 angle, in my state we don't need to do that for private sale.

Full custom build with all aftermarket pieces i spose.

^^^ About the same here.

By the time you buy the parts to complete the pistol you'll spend about the same as just buying a similar pistol.

It's my understanding you cannot sell a completed 80% because that makes you a manufacture. Being a manufacture of firearms requires permission from, and tribute to, the crown.

Depending on which 80% you chose, it looks pretty easy, you can even make one using a mold to cast polymer, by machining a polymer frame or milling out a metallic frame. If your even a amateur machinist it's a pretty simple job. My preference would be to buy a ghost gunner milling machine, for cash, in person, IJS.

But they're a special G10 polymer, more durable than cheaper polys. Yeah, I looked through their site before but always ended up balking at the price

$75 is pretty standard for quality grips.

Can certainly spend more, I think I spent 120ish on a set of VZ grips on a 1911.

we have buckets of G10 scrap at work....most pcs are definitely big enough for pistol grips, if anyone wants to machine their own grips...PM me if interested
The G10 we have is p-nut butter color, so you would probably want to stain it black

I wanna see you stain it, stain it black
Black as night, dark as coal
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky

Macs, unfortunately my desire for cheap, quality grips never did have any bearing in reality. Glancing through the interwebs, looks like some wood options on eBay, but I'm only seeing compact versions

G-10 is a great grip material. You're paying for machine time in this case.

Those are bad arse. Not a bad price actually. Beer

FYI. These are imported by a very good friend of mine I've trained with.

A completely stand up dude, and if you ever have any issues, David will make it right. I have absolutely no issues endorsing SDS.

That is the best deal on a 1911 ever. Applause

So this is one of the guns I lost in the fire, it wasn’t completed as I had issues with fit (cerekote). Decided to go the serialized way this time as all my tooling stuff was burned as well.

I don’t think people understand how much better the angle of the grip and the stippling are on these P80’s. You don’t buy these to be cheaper than a Glock you guy them because they’re better.

Well this should be much easier the second time around anyways, not going to be custom colored but I am getting a much nicer slide this go round. Damn hard to find parts and especially a RMR I wanted.

You might try a Steyr L9 or M9 first. They are not as common as Glocks, but, IMO, a perfected Glock.

You are correct about hard to find parts, even obscure reloading parts are too often hard to find right now.

The Steyr grip angles are better, and the stippling on the L9 don’t know a thing about the triggers n such.

I’m building a range toy so literally everything was hand picked and I’m mounting a Holosun (when I can find one....) to the custom slide. Mag well, Overwatch TAC trigger (coated bars)4 different spring weights, threaded barrel (can to follow), suppressor height sights, Ti pin set...

Got an email 2 days after purchase, it’s shipped (frame) and will be here Monday for bgc @my local joint. Unfortunately I think the slide may take some time and some other parts that I sourced are from GS who I’ve never had excellent service or speedy shipping.....

I do have AR parts on the way now too. Replacing my Daewoo DR200 was just too much $ and effort to find. So I’m going to experience building a rifle too.

Got a Holosun optic for both.

My oldest son bought a Daewoo rifle for his collection of military rifles. It shot well until he tried some heavier bullets, they all key-holed at 100 yards, they did group pretty well all things considered.

I like the Holosun circular reticle sights.

Got the AR built......still waiting on damn Glock parts, craziness.

But I did order a TCM9R conversion for the P80 (Glock 19 equivalent) as I can find ammo for this! Still need parts to finish the lower. And still waiting on the optic.
