it seems that your question is: what is the appropriate amount of time to let purchased cigars sit before smoking?
Clint's answer is right on...only your taste will tell you if the cigar needs more storage time...
most shops store their cigars at 70 RH...too wet for me, so I'll let them sit in 60 RH (my sweet spot) for a coupla three weeks, smoke one to see if it's good for my tastes and go from there...I've bought some cigars that might've been stored at a higher RH, and have had to put them down for longer and then dry box (empty cigar box without humidity device and ambient RH less than 50) them for a day before smoking...do the same for singles, fivers, ten packs, bundles and boxes...
this works for all sorts of cigars: dog rockets to $35 OpusX or $100 Behikes...
