Preferably I'm looking for something than can simultaneously run a zoom meeting and stream (legally, of course) a ufc fight....
Would this computer be able to handle that? If I'm willing to spend a few hundred more, is there anything significantly better?
It might. Two simultaneous video streams/windows on a 14" screen might be a bit hard to see any detail though.
Probably be easier with a larger screen, just watch out for the systems that use the lower resolution screens to save cost. There are still a lot of 15" 1366x768 and 17" 1600x900 out there.
Discrete graphics chipsets are nice, not sure you quite need them though. Besides a better/faster graphics processor, they aren't sharing system memory. They do drive the price way up though.
You could probably get by just fine with more memory or bigger CPU and more memory. I haven't really looked around yet at what's out there. When I looked up Robert's computer, I thought I saw an add on Costco about another HP Pavilion that was like a 15.6" 1920x1080 Ryzen 5 w/ 16GB that was $200 off so $650 IIRC. Pavilion is an entry/bargain-line class system, but, if all you are going to do is tote it around your house, they are probably fine.
