Mac Jones is playing beyond his years. If ever there was a draft pick and team perfect for each other, this is the one.

MACS, I thought that was a strange trade. All potential, not near enough results.

I had the kid from Clemson 1, the kid from Ohio state 2, Jones 3, and the kid from BYU 4, and your kid 5. The draft nics were raving about him, I am not sure if he was even a first round pick. The kid out of Florida may be better.

Trevor Lawrence is gonna be good. I'm still not sold on Justin Fields. I just don't see it.

I thought the Niners were going to take Mac Jones. Trey Lance for what they gave up? That deserves to be on MNF's C'MON, MAN! segment.

Yup, it’s all about the POTENTIAL. Never mind that he played at an FCS school and didn’t get a scholarship offer from an FBS school for him to play QB. With his size and training by his father, he definitely should have dominated at NDS. He looked like a man amongst boys but now that he’s in the Men’s League, talent only takes you so far. So yes, the jury is still out until that point in time when he starts to play and either proves the Niners were absolutely correct or flat azz stoopid to give up all that draft capital.

Patriots are following the Coach Bill script...play your best late in the season.
But they are currently over rated, even though they have improved greatly.

Jones has been very good without ever having anything close to a great game yet. He's being held back to minimize mistakes and has eagerly accepted the role of "Game Manager", much like TB12 did 20 years ago.
They seem to be on a streak of catching teams with lots of issues...just yesterday they beat a team missing a Pro Bowl amount of talent on offense and gave up a million yards on the ground. But they forced 4 more turnovers.

Anyone thinking it was all Brady doesn't understand the value of an organized leader with the Head Coach job.

Probably a record that will stand for a long, long time.

And it’s pretty amazing that he’s been in 12 SBs as either an assistant or head coach so another record that will be hard to beat.

Agreed. Many thought Parcells was the mastermind.

The Giants teams won with defense. That was all BB. What did Parcells ever win without BB?

Spoiler - jack sh-t.

Stop with the "game manager" BS.

You can't manage a game when you don't have an offense.
The Pats don't have a marquee name on offense. RB, WR, TE.

McCorkle is doing it with no true offensive weapons. And it's taken 12 games for the offensive line to be together and healthy.

Just because the kid isn't flashy doesn't mean he's merely managing the games.

The Pats scored on 10 of their 12 offensive possessions on Sunday. Against Vrabel's Titan defense.

Turn off WEEI and those yahoos.
This isn't game management. And it's not a string of good luck, just like it wasn't simply bad luck when they opened the season by losing close games.

I still think we need some trusted weapons on offense come playoff time. Mac can't do it all himself, and if they lose it won't be because he mismanaged the game.

Brady did it with just about the same amount of experience. If it’s a system and game management thing, why can’t he win it?

Doug Williams and Trent Dilfer were SB winning QBs.
Frick, Eli Manning only has three more tds than interceptions.

Mac JOneS isn’t such a stretch, is it?

which is why we haven't seen what Mac jones can do yet.
There's no choice but to be a game manager currently. And that wins more than QB talent with no other stars on offense.

It's coaching this time...again.

That's what BB has built his entire reputation on. Defense and scoring enough to win.

Some manager are in a class, above others. He's just doing what been working, with new people, same routine all over again.

MACS I agree, winner set the standard by their accomplishments.

FYI, Lombardi did not originate that phrase. I don’t, offhand, remember who did but it wasn’t Vince. Not that he didn’t use it but his phrase was actually “Winning isn’t everything. The will to win is the only thing.”

Yep.....seems I remember a Broncos team that won a Superbowl with a QB that couldn't throw 20 yards but a defense that will go down as one of the best ever,Von Miller's name should be first listed.

GO PAT's !!!

Buffalo had a big edge, home field, national TV prime time, tailgating fans starting on Saturday, weather and a QB with an arm strong enough to throw a little...

wins like the Pats pulled off last night are never boring...

The majority of fans love offense and lotta scoring (…fantasy football anyone?…).

Football players, coaches and real (aka “knowledgeable”) fans only care about the W. “Just win, baby!” pretty much sums it up for them.

I am re-assessing my opinion of the Patriots without Brady, but will reserve final judgment until Feb 13, 2022...

it was only a couple weeks ago that the Rams had much better odds than the Patriots to make it to the Super Bowl this year...that script has flipped...

I agree that defenses win championships and Belichick has been the best defensive coach in our lifetimes...he wouldn't want the Rams gig, and I don't think a defensive minded head coach would be happy in LA, where showtime offenses grab attention...it's Hollywood and everybody loves McVay's personality, and where Belichick would look like a misfit...

maybe get a defensive mastermind as DC (Rams allowed a good young one, Staley, to leave and get a head coaching job)...like Jack Del Rio (Cal roots), Martindale of Ravens, or the Saints Dennis Allen...somebody better than Morris

Morris and McVay are like long-time buddies so no surprise that Raheem was hired and probably not be fired any time soon.

yup.

His best teams are the ones that can win in different ways in the same season as opposed to having an identity that they won't waver from...like the Steelers always want to be rough and tough, or the Rams want to be the aerial circus etc.

This week Mac Jones attempted 3 passes. Last week he threw for 310 yards. It's December. There's gonna be weather days that stifle the Greatest Show(s) on Turf. Better have the fat guys up front that can run block.

Belichick may not have the horses to go all the way this year but he has the guys who understand winning is above personal achievements on the field, like Mac Jones happy to win throwing for 12 yards.

they're still a bit over rated but they could become what some think they are already. But they have to stay under the influence of The Hoodie.

ESPN + has a series on Brady. Man in the Arena.

Out of his own mouth he said his job at QB is to not lose the game. Definition of a system QB.

It shouldn’t be looked at as a negative. Running any machine or production line takes skill. Especially when 11 guys are on the other side trying to wreck it.
