I am making a cigar box purse for the helluva it...I have so many empty wooden boxes so I thought I would do something with them...This is a Perdomo Moments box that I placed padding and some striped fabric I got at a local hobby store in the bottom..I first took the wooden wall pieces out, placed the padding on the bottom (cut to shape) and then laid the fabric inside (cut slightly bigger than the bottom) and then glued (using wood glue) the wooden pieces back in..Fits perfectly and my next steps is to coat the outside of the boxd with wood protectant (enamel?) and the drill two holes on the top of the box (not the lid)..I bought some leather cords and some green and blue braided cords to wrap around the leather cords as a handle..I will post a pic of the finished purse when it's completed...What's nice about the Perdomo boxes is that the clasp is heavy duty and closes with a snap, so I don't have to replace the clasp!..We'll see what happens! (Man, I have wayyy too much time on my hands..I don't go back to work until Oct 17th..LOL)..It's a crappy pic, so bear with me

rick has already made enough to provide the entire family and has sold a few in vegas for $25.00.

rookie i would post a cigar box clock, but i traded it with someone and can't remember who. i'll put another one together and post it for you.

the nice thing about what you are doing is your own
ideas get incorporated.

toby and i are finishing two tv trays. i bought a 24 x 48 X 5/8 piece of oak ply and we sanded it, framed the edges in moulding, stained and varnished them and are putting 24" legs on them.

any personal project that makes something unique is a blast.

Rook,

aren't you afraid the colors will clash with your clothes?

Hey Keith, try using high gloss marine(spar) varnish for the outside. Very durable.

Don't do it GYO. He'll be sending you his make up secrets, potpourri recipes, and how to get dolled up for that special someone.

Nice! Can't wait to see the finished product! The better clasps are the catch!

I carried one of my cigar box purses all weekend and was thankful for the good clasp. Otherwise, my 'gars, lipstick and cash (a girls 3 most important purse items) would have spilled out everywhere!
