This doesn't help you now, but here is the info you're looking for:

3) Bid Cancellation Policy

All bids are final. Only CigarBid reserves the right to cancel bids. However, a bidder may modify his/her own bid during a 15 minute grace period after the bid has been placed. Please note that this grace period is suspended during the last hour of an auction. See Optional Bidding Features for more details.

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago when I overbid on a 5 pack of Ashton VSG's. It was early, before my morning coffee, and I was certain that I was bidding on ESG's, not VSG's. I immediately realized my mistake and tried to retract my bid, but could not do it. What are the steps to retract a bid within the first 15 minutes?

Unfortunately no way to retract a bid, although I do agree there should be a small time window that would allow someone to retract the bid.

i have been in that boat once.. If you call them they will cancel it once the auction is over. Your bid will remain as is until it is over. If you win it, your bid will be cancelled and be charge the 15% then be given to the next highest bidder. Judging by recent auctions, someone will most likely outbid you...lol

I have done that in a different fashion....... The person told me that I can cancel but only once, I think, in a year. Check with them.

Officially, once a bid is placed it cannot be retracted. However, we know that 'stuff' happens and on occasion a bid is placed in error. So the CS Team is always ready to help out. Just remember that we can't do anything with a bid while its active. The only time we can make changes is the winnings have been downloaded. Then we can remove 'the offender" from your order.

The 15% restocking fee is for chronic offenders - people who just bid on anything and everything, and then realize they don't want all of it and ask us to remove it. Not only do they put a halt on the automation when we have to adjust their order, but they took away merchandise that someone else was willing to buy.

Bottom line is this: If you need assistance, we have a team of lovely ladies here that are willing to help. We thoroughly understand drunk bidding, fat fingers, and general confusion and are willing help keep your homelife under control! Herfing

This is a separate topic, but I'd like to praise CBid customer service, too. I ordered several singles and a not until a month later did I realize that 2 were missing from the lot. CBid agreed to send them to me. I even offered to wait till my next order so they could save on the shipping. But they sent them to me separately, anyway.

It was their mistake in the first place. But they handled it very courteously.

Stay away from CBid while drinking? You've got to be kidding. More wisdom has been shared during a drunken stupor than during the entire realm of mankind.

Isn't this why CI put a "Verify your Bid" checkbox in the bidding sequence?
I never check that box until I'm sure I want to bid.
