I know I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, in the middle of the thread about Rookie's wonderful gift to his dad, but I think that circumstances justify it getting a little more attention on its' own ...

Join me, if you will, in wishing our friend and fellow CBer, Miamibum, the quickest possible complete recovery from the suddenly discovered need to have most of one kidney removed due to a malignant tumor. The discovery of the problem and an operation to address the situation took place about a month ago ... two weeks ago when I first mentioned it, he was quite hopeful that he was alread well on his way to recovery and reported that his doctor was quite confident that he'd been able to get all of the tumor.

Then, just after I posted that information, Miamibum had to go back into the hospital for a few days due to some complications. He got out last week and seemed to be doing well, but had to return to the hospital earlier this week for some additional treatment.

Adding that he has become a bigtime fan of body scans, the use of which he credits with saving his life, he hopes to be improving shortly and since they've not let him enjoy a smoke during all this time, is looking forward to a nice cigar and a glass of scotch ...

Trey, when you're out, I'm buying you one of each.

Thank you Steve, X, CJB, Rookie, CW, and Marla, for all your kind words and thoughts. I am progressing along just taking it a day at a time. Although I have had a few complications, the Drs. have assured me that none are threatening at this time. the recovery period is just taking a little longer than expected. Once again, thanks to all of you; this a great group of folks. A special thanks to Steve for thinking of me and inquiring as to my progress. BTW, I'm not from Miami, from Dallas instead. The miamibum is a private joke between my step-son and I (he is a huge Marino fan)

LT, that's wishing a speedy recovery to the Cowboys, too, right? Hope you're doing better, Trey. If you get a little time off, drop by Jerry Jones' office and fix his team please.
