One interesting thing I’ve noticed perusing around other sites is how many different cigars there are that never seem to show up here. Stuff I’ve never heard of before and know nothing about. I get that each site can’t carry everything but CB seems to have a very middle of the road selection…5 Vegas, Gurkha,RP, etc etc. I’m not slamming it, it’s just there’s lots of other stuff to explore. Kind of exciting.

Hahahahahaha! Sounds like you finally found the light switch and flipped it on! Laugh

But, I’mma purdy sure the vast majority of us were the same way. I had made my first couple of online purchases from another site but they offered singles so at that point in time, was the right place for my soon-to-be obsession. However, once I found out about CBid, the damn floodgates opened and swallowed hook, line and sinker! Before MAP, CBid was a purdy decent place to get a broad range of cigars. Mebbe not great for brand new releases or boutique brands but staples that I loved such as Fuente, MF, Oliva, Padron, and Tatuaje were readily offered here. Took me a little bit to find other sources but other, more experienced brothers here helped with that broadening of my horizons.

^yup your 100% correct. I always went to the local shops to pick up a few smokes, and then my boss turned me on to CB about 8 years ago ( he also said stay off the forum those guys will eat you alive! Lol)
I love the way this site works with the Freefall and stuff, and like you said, they have most of what I’m looking for. I really just didn’t realize there was so much that I didn’t know about.

Yeah, I'm a reformed cigarette smoker and started cigars with the goal of find my brand and smoke my brand. That quickly turned to gotta try 'em all. Cbid kept me sated for a couple years, but eventually I had to venture beyond

I’m a little gunshy about buying smokes that I know nothing about even though I know that’s how you find what you like.

But yeah this is addicting. The buying, bidding, all of it is fun

Does your boss have thin skin. Maybe he showed up here at the wrong time - there were some times....

Where on the teddy bear did he touch you? Hopefully you denied a trip to a van down by the river.

Re: other places. It makes sense to shop around. I used to get some great deals here but now they are far an few between. Back in the day you could land some Padron X000 for a couple dollars per smoke. Those days are long gone.
