I find it's good policy to avoid smoking cigars the day I receive them. I know, it's hard to resist. Even with the tubos, I'd suggest removing them, sit them naked in the humidor for three days to a week and then retube them. Lots of folks are in the habit of putting the cigars they intend to smoke soon into a dry box to let the excess moisture gradually leave the sticks. 70% RH is the rule of thumb for storage but you may find that 60-65% smokes better for you. Also pay attention to the temperature of the air in the humidor. In order to be 70% at 70 degrees, the RH should be 59% at 75 degrees and 83% at 65 degrees. If your hygrometer reads 70% but the temperature is 75, you are too moist.
