In other words, I can't comment because I have no idea about the relative merits of these cutters, but I'm sure somebody else does.

I have the Xikar VX and VX2 cutters as well as the Colibri V-Cut.

I use all three, depending on the ring gauge of the cigar.

When my VX was brand new, 10 years ago, she cut like a charm. Still cuts well but I believe it's dulled a little (...too lazy to send it back...). I'll use it on cigars 46 to 52 RG. The VX2 is used for smokes from 54 to 56 RG. It cuts very well. I only use the Colibri for 58 RG and larger and with the infrequent use, it's close to brand new so is probably the best cutter right now.

I prefer a V cut but will straight cut (...Xikar Xi3...) smaller cigars as well as torpedoes.

In terms of Reliability, they've all been fine and, as noted above, I've used my VX for 10 years. The other two are somewhere between 5 to 6 years old but I don't use either one nearly as much as the VX...mainly 'cause I don't smoke a whole lotta big RG cigars.

Having used the VX for 10 years, ergonomically, I love it. The design and mechanics are very similar to your standard guillotine so not much to adjust to. The VX2 and Colibri cutters are heavier and their designs are okay but prefer the finger loops of the VX. One thing I just noticed was the Colibri's rubberized body is getting sticky. Mebbe from non-use, mebbe from the humidity and salt in the air here, nonetheless, a little surprised at the material breakdown.
