Not to cause a panic but if you were thinking of buying some AF cigars now might be a good time. Not sure what lines the tobacco was aging for but they mention that Chateau de la Fuente in Bonao is where OpusX wrappers are grown. I wonder if that's where one of my favorites the Chateau SG is grown. Sad day.

A bummer fo’ sure! OhMyGod

I don’t know if they will (…and sure hope they won’t…) but from a marketing POV, perfect justification / reason to raise prices. d'oh!

At the bottom of that article (quote from Carlos Jr.) "and while this is a setback, it should not impact the company’s production"

I always take those kind of statements with a grain of salt.

I'mma bit lucky in that I probably have enough of my favorite Fuentes to last anywhere from 3 to 5, mebbe even up to 7 years. Iffin' they come out with something new that compels me to buy, then my current stock will last even longer...unless there's a diminishing return on keeping the current stuff past their prime.

Yup, also after seeing the insane increased prices for CCs I assumed the Opus X MSRP will climb as well.
