I'm not a country music fan. I've never heared of the man until recently. I've watched the video and read the lyrics a few times. As Huzza said, I can't see why the song is getting so much hate.
Seems like the songs are based on his experiences and have a foundation that the big players are screwing the little folks and average folks. I would agree with that. The powers that be say is one thing but what they do is a different thing. I think this country has lost it's way on various levels and various issues.
There's some references to his addictions and mental issues that he fought through or is fighting through. All of these issues cross all lines of politics, social status, and income level. It may be more prevalent than we know. I would say that that's a fact.
I would like to see us all get back together and address issues, work together locally, at the state level and the federal level. Put the politics aside, focus on what we need to do to fix the problems with real and true information not tailored information that targets or meets some agenda. It would be nice if that sort of community bond and helpfulness would be a daily thing and not only crop up after tragedies like 9-11, hurricanes, earthquakes, blizzards, floods, and so on.
