Tell me the crop duster can withstand the damage a A-10 can…..

With the A-10’s ROF it doesn’t take it 8 hours to unload, and what dark missions are going to require that length of Overwatch on station? They already use different sizes of drones for dark missions.

Saw a crop duster looking plane in a hangar about 20 years ago with about a 80' wingspan... it was in a secret place and I prolly shouldn't have said anything... Unsure

The A-10 Thunderbolt (Warthog) is one of my favorite military planes. That thing is franking cool! Saw one up close a long time ago at an airshow. It also did a little show and fired off it's 30 mm cannon/Gatling gun on a flyby down the flight line (blanks of course). That characteristic BRRRRRT sound is etched in my brain. 30 rounds of armor piercing ammo that can kill tanks not to mention the missiles and bombs that it can carry under it's wings.

The A-10 aircraft was built around the gun. It started with the original request by the Air Force for someone to build a 30mm rapid-fire cannon. General Electric won and built the gun. Then Fairchild Republic (now part of Northrup-Grumman) built the plane and it was designed around the gun. Due to the recoil of the gun, the firing barrel needs to be on the center line of the plane. If it was off center it would cause the plane to yaw (twist left or right) while flying and firing.

It's a beast of a plane - a flying tank. It's an older plane (originally designed in the late 70's) but it's a nearly indestructible beast. Sad to see it being retired. They've been trying to retire it for years but didn't have a good replacement. Eventually good things come to an end.

AND IT IS A VERITABLE BAD ASS REPLACEMENT FOR THE A10...
