Can someone explain the free fall auction?

I just sat and watched 6 auctions on a single cigar and they kept resetting. Yet there were only 2 buyers and one had 2 and the other had one. Are they lowering their prices or is it the seller that is resetting the price?

It's not an "auction" per se.

The price starts high, and drops and drops and drops... Where it lands, no one knows (OK, watch the same auction 6-10 times and you will see the spread.

Buy when you feel the price is right for you. Wait too long and it resets again, maybe it goes as low, maybe not...

Also, check this site and see what the lowest price you should expect is:

The people buying having nothing to do with it.
The system is computer driven.

Here are a few tips…
There are three important numbers…
The Start
The Drop
The Reset
- The “start” is easy, it is the starting price of the freefall, and is typically different for every subsequent round of a given lot
- The “drop” is the amount the price will “fall”, and is always the same, and always a whole number……..…..like say $46
- The reset is the lowest price for a particular freefall, at which point the price will revert to a new “start”…

So, what you do is watch a particular lot you are interested in, and determine the “drop.”
Then watch for the lowest “start” price, and you will then have the lowest reset, which will obviously be the lowest price.
If you like the price, be sure to hit that button once it gets to the lowest drop point, you have about 1.5 seconds to click the button.

There are a few cigars here, that are decent, that historically are cheaper on FF, than they are on regular auction.

Bid high, Bid early, Bid often.

Only losers in life lose a bid.

Real men only win bids.

Aren't there two ways it resets?
1) when someone grabs a lot at their personal price point.
2) when it hit's it's preprogrammed lowest price.

Yes, it will reset if someone bids BEFORE the bottom reset……….a dumb noob maneuver.

Another tip for you noobs.
Look to see how many others have purchased the lot you are interested in…
No one? Probably not a great deal….
More than 30 other buyers? Probably a good deal….
