No experience with this one, so what should I try? Looking for medium body , but not adverse to something full as long as it’s not the LFD Double Ligero type of strong! That thing killed me

imo New Wave Connecticut has a decent character for a connie. Produces lots of smoke. Mild/med. I grabbed a few singles in the Stella which is a corona. Liked enough I went for a box of the Brillante (robusto). Some have been on Cbid as singles and tend to go $4ish. I've seen boxes of Brillante on the auction go for under $60

Not enough experience with the brand to suggest anything within your parameters but as a whole, I haven’t found an EPC that wowed me.

With that being said, I have a few Pledge Prequels that I have to spark up so mebbe my thoughts will change.

The Pledge "Prequels" are good (they're really just romustos with a dumb name). Recently smoked an Allegiance from Stogie that was good, but both these cigars are pretty full. I think. Stuff affects people differently. Some things I think of as full are medium to others, and vice versa.

I liked the Capa del Sol as well, but as I remember, Stogie wasn't that impressed with it. I've smoked a few others, La Historia and something else, but obviously they weren't memorable.

His sweet spot is pretty full bodied stuff, I mean the guy founded La Gloria Cubana...

I enjoy the pledge, la historia (haven't had in forever though), allegiance is good too, but pledge is best imo.

The thing to know with his stuff is that it needs many months of rest before it's ready to smoke. A lot of the brashness fades with 6+ months of rest, and then it's strong but smooth.

Haven't tried his latest Short Run but his 2010 was among the best cigars I can remember. Also his Elencos line were great cigars as well. Since he went out on his own he has had some great cigars and some I thought were duds.

I got the E.P. Carrillo INCH Natural 5 packs(5x62) off of CI through Make me an offer for $17 once a few years back. I enjoy the heck out out them, and they show up on C Bid as singles, 5-packs and boxes, along with a Maduro version(which I haven't tried) and the 7x70 version(which I just pulled the trigger for the box with Freefall of 24 for ~$200). The Inch were very nice cigars, not mild, like a mid pushing towards heavy. I try to keep it on hand. Might have smoked a few others, I do bid on other EP Carillo's, just haven't won any yet. Let us know what you find out.

EDITED: Got confused between EP and Espinosa, derp Brick wall

Long long ago , before I even joined here, I recall three or four 5-packs of Elencos I had that had the most prominent “vanilla” notes of any cigar I’ve ever had.
Subsequent Elencos purchases never had that level of baker spice or vanilla notes of those couple fivers, and after that, the Elencos went to yardgar status for me.
I havent purchased any in 10+ years.

Just smoked a New Wave robusto and was not impressed. It had been in the humidors for a year or more. The Inch was better, but I haven't yet found any one that wowed me yet so I haven't tied the ones others think are great.
