You gain 5 lbs overnight
You rather sleep than go out
Everything hurts
Comfort comes before style
You have a favorite Spatula
College kids look like they're 12
You're always annoyed

Ever hear of the government ending a program because they've met their objective? Me neither.

Yup, and you can add, most people are idiots.

When we first got married my Mom gave us a bunch of kitchen utensils. Amongst them was a metal spatula. It was old when we got it and that was 41+ years ago. We still use it despite the fact that the paint on the wooden handle has mostly rubbed off but there is NO WAY IN H-E-L-L that I’mma gonna let anyone throw it away!

Silicone spatulas don’t crack and are better with high temps.

We have those too but that old spatula will never leave our house. Sometimes the length and rigidity of it works best.

I can whip an egg with a good spatula, and prolly cook scrambled eggs with it...

but I can't turn a fried egg over easy with it...I have a turner for that...

Yes and we have several, however, we still have the crappy old ones they were supposed to replace. Brick wall

I cannot say too much, I have some excellent Whia/Tank/Wera screwdrivers, but I still have all the old ids and ends they replaced.

I have various ones but not a single favorite. Depends on what I'm cooking and the footprint of the food. For example, cooking some pancakes I use a wider one. If cooking something with a smaller footprint I use a rectangular one. I prefer the silicone cooking utensils. They are durable, can handle the heat and don't scratch up the pan. I generally use cast iron pans and aluminum nonstick pans.

I typically don't use the silicone ones on with the grill though. If grilling outside on the grill slats I'll use metal ones. The metal ones I have are Pampered Chef ones if I remember correctly. Stainless steel, thick gauge and durable. If I have to guess they are around 20 yrs old. If grilling outside using the cast iron pans, I'll use the silicone ones.

New apt has a gas stove. I haven't cooked on a gas stove in years since my previous houses and apts didn't have natural gas connections. I like cooking and baking with natural gas. Instantaneous heat and better control, less expensive to run, can still be used if there is a power outage. You could even use it as a temporary gas heater if there is an electric power outage. Current stove has 4 burners and this mini nonstick skillet thingy in the center. It's perfect for cooking some pancakes, eggs, grilled sandwiches, toasting some buns and stuff like that. Use a silicone spatula so you don't scratch up the nonstick coating.
