Let's see who the heavy hitters are... what is the most cigars you have smoked in one day? From the time you woke up till you fell asleep (unless some of you real diehards smoke in your sleep). Extra points if you herfed only full-bodied gars.

Half a box of Diplomaticos (Cuban) along with a bottle of scotch. This was in the evening. During the day I had killed about 6 Sinatra's. Never again.

Enroute to the Land of Lincoln Herf leaving in the early morning in the backseat with three large humidors surrounding me until when I went to sleep almost 24 hrs later after indulging myself, I smoked 18 or 19 cigars, only full bodied flavorful handmades (that's all I smoke!)...and every one of them I enjoyed immensely!..Another time enroute to Indy for the Indy 500 with Mr Mean, I enjoyed (not smoked..enjoyed is the key word!) about fifteen medium to full bodied cigars!...That's a damn fine day to me!

I think my max is about 5 full bodied cigars in a day, so far!! But in response to Keith's post, I agree that "enjoying" cigars while en route somewhere is one of my favorites! It not only makes my daily commute tolerable, it makes it enjoyable. I can say that I've never enjoyed a drive home when I did'nt have a good gar with me!

LOL! I thought Rookie was gonna say three large something else's as in SOBs and I was gonna call him on it.There was only Kevin and myself so that could only be 2 large SOB's.I don't usually keep count and can rarely remember after such a long night of partying.I'd have to go with more than a dozen and less than 25. :0)

Other than by a total accident, I don't smoke anything that isn't full-bodied ... not entirely sure of the final count, but in June my local store had a whole pig barbecue and a Comacho rep was on hand to pass out some samples ... I had smoked a cigar early that Saturday, was smoking ;my second when I walked into the store at 11, had 4 more while there, one on the way home and at least three or four more that evening ... there are other days that have come close too, but I really am not sure how many ... never thought of what my 'record' might be ... hmmmmm

I have hit 7 or 8 in one day, but had no desire for a cigar the next day! I understand Jim Belushi is a 10 a day man (Not a Lone Wolf in the bunch) every day! Hats off to you guys that can smoke that many in a day! On weekends I do minimum of 3 per day, but 14 to 18-no way! Charlie

One thing I've noticed is that there comes a point where the appreciation factor begins to diminish ... on work days, I generally have a cigar at lunch time, then another in the evening after dinner ... sometimes, a third one finds its way out of my humidor and into my mouth, depending on what I'm doing ...

On weekends, however, my consumption goes up ... but I've observed that my appreciation level doesn't always follow in proportion ... once I go beyond about 6 in a day, I just don't fully appreciate them, and it gets to be a little too much like the ol' cigarette habit of years ago, just lightin' and puffin' ... as a result, I've made a conscious effort to limit myself ... irrespective of the cost, I want to relax and fully enjoy the smoke ...

got a vacation planned later this month ... starting some time ago, I began planning which cigars I wanted to take and have a five per day schedule, with a few in reserve, just in case ... that, to me, is the optimum.

In my younger days, while working in a smoke shop, I would fire up between 8 and 10 a day. Man in those days (the 70's) I would smoke pretty much anything. Mostly stuck to Royal Jamiacans, Monty Christo's, Punch, and sometimes, since I'm Sicilian, a box pack of Perodi's. Brutal! Now a days it varies. I like to try new cigars I haven't tried and a lot of old favourites. About 18 to 20 per week. Give or take 5 or 6. Depends on what I'm doing. Man that's a heap of sticks for more than 30 years of smoking!

My max seems to be about three per day on the weekend. I think the "apreciation factor" is why. I also, like my great grandfather before me, enjoy the de nobili/ parodi smokes.

my old best friend when we were 20 was bored one day, so he decided to see if he could smoke a carton of cigarettes in one day and by George he did it! Most cigars I've smoked in a day is only 5.

I am trying to keep it to 1 cigar a day and try to skip a day once in a while. On days off or vacation I never do more than 2 or 3. I march behind Rickamuffin.

Jim can vouch for me since he was in the front passenger seat enroute to the LOL herf!...Going to and from work (35 miles each way), I always have a petite corona or even a robusto to make the drive easier!...It really is enjoyable to be able to do this!...I agree that there comes a point when your tastebuds are shot and you have to know when that point is about to creep up on ya!...I never smoke a cigar just to "smoke"...Personally, It has to be a whole experience and savoring each draw is very important to me!...Those numerous cigars I can honestly say that I really enjoyed each one (and tasted the complex flavors, smelled the wonderful aromas of each and every one) because of the situation (with friends enjoying a good cigar(s), enroute to a major herf...Screw it..I'm probably not making sense...I really gotta go to sleep..Three years of midnights (by choice believe it or not) is starting to wear thin!

let me add one more quick thing..Maybe this will make more sense (got a second wind..LOL)...If I smoked the SAME 15-20 cigars in the same period (about 24 hrs) while sitting by myself on my patio (example), I wouldn't enjoy anything after the third cigar or so...The rest would taste all the same and I'd probably get sick...Hopefully this comparison makes it easier to understand...Good night!

The most that I've ever smoked in one day is two cigars. I find that even if I seperate the two by several hours, my tastebuds are dulled for the second one. Plus, as rookie said, much of the enjoyment of smoking a cigar comes from the surroundings and company. One carefully chosen cigar is usually the perfect thing for any given situation.

8 today ... too many, maybe, and not even my record ... but by damn, they were all good ... perhaps I should try the more carefully chosen approach

Iirc, 5 is the most I smoked in one day. Three at a golf tournament while driving the beer and refreshment cart and then 2 more at a cigar event later that night.

The most in recent memory is three. I'm sure that back in the day I smoked four at some point, but that's probably the most.

Three is a lot for me now. Most days only one.

I’m questioning golden goose up there^^. 5 cigars in 4 hours sounds pretty impressive.

Most in a day for me 4or 5. I’m usually a 1-2 kinda guy. Maybe 3 ifn I had some super shot / firecracker type cigar. Full size romusto I’d say 3 is enough.

He also claims to have drank / drunk a bottle and a half of champagne too so me thinks accuracy might be a bit compromised. Shame on you

Too many cigars will give you ball sack mouth. The sides of the inside of your mouth look like ball sack. My wife is a dental hygienist and says that's what they call it. You know when you have ball sack mouth you've had too many. Say no to ball sack mouth.

WTH??? OK...maybe it's a good thing that I was never able to attend one of those legendary events!

My record is 5, at the Morro Bay Fish N Herf. Three on the boat while fishing. One when we returned home and relaxed with beer and whiskey... and one after dinner. My mouth and chest were gassed...I don't think I would have enjoyed smoking any more that day.

I think on a nice social day, three is the sweet spot...

you contributed to quality smoking...If I recall, you donated a box of Diplomaticos and a box of Fuente Anejos to the festivities...took me a bit to get used to smoking a Cuban cigar as opposed to the usual rocket while fishing...good times...
