That antibiotics can't kill...these phage bacteria feed on superbugs and the bacteria are so scared of phage that they drop their exoskeleton shells to prevent phage from attaching to the exoskeleton portals...then antibiotics can kill the super bugs...

Phage are found in bogs, cess pools, sewers, stagnant water, and hundreds of other nasty ass funky sh#t holes full of bacteria and viruses..
..

It's a new field of study that may save the human race...

Can anyone elaborate on my simple explanation which may be inncorrect?
But close to correct...

Bacteriophage literally translates to "eater of bacteria" its a virus that attacks bacteria.

It's been in study/development way back when I was still in school studying biochemistry. I haven't really kept up with any new research from the last 20 years but I'd imagine there's been significant advancement.

In treatment of a MDRO, when there's no longer antibiotics that can kill the bacteria, a bacteriophage engineered to go after those bacteria can be used (in theory as far as I know. It's definitely not in practice yet) to fight them. Think releasing a cat into a mouse infested shed when the mice aren't affected by d-con. Cat eats the mice, mice run out, cat dies.

Yes, Bacteriophage or phage is not a bacteria, it is a virus that infects a bacterium

No kiddin'?

I was agreeing with Dan.
Do I need to rephrase my statement so you can understand it?

Also, a virus doesn't eat anything, it doesn't have a metabolism so it is not technically a living organism like a bacteria
